Oh great thanks a lot. Just been in love with that horn ever since I first watched at age 8.

This was always a great way to learn about trains. Sure it's got some cheesy 90's-ness to it, but that's why we all love it. Especially myself.

Engineer Bob also works at a freight yard in San Ysidro, CA and takes mixed freight trains into Mexico.

I was proud of Dave for giving up on his broken radio and rushing to the train in order to alert Engineer Bob that there was a car on the tracks and that his radio was broken. In my opinion, Dave should have won an award for his act of courage.

One question I have to ask is does anyone the video: What do you want to be when you grow up? -Railroaders? That's another classic video from my childhood, or 'Train Adventures for Kids, The Magical World of Trains' Those two were great.
@MattProtrains15 жыл бұрын
One thing I should point out, the sound that the Santa Fe 3751 makes in the Credits, is not it's sound. At the end, you can see it's whistle not blowing. Although it isn't the right sound, it kinda does suit the locomotive in some ways.
@1f5sda15 жыл бұрын
Engineer Bob is one brave engineer and so is Engineer Dave, even though he is brakeman for the day. Oh, by the way, he is still active as engineer with the San Diego Railroad Museum. Pretty amazing, isn't it?
@otakurailfan13 жыл бұрын
For anyone who does not understand: the reason why it takes a mile and a half or more to stop a train is when the locomotive breaks are applied, all the wieght from the cars is forced to the front, or in simpler words the train cars push the locomotive making it difficult to stop. (correct me if i am wrong)
@brianfalzon9213 жыл бұрын
Those chugging and whistle sounds are from Southern Pacific 4449! Pretty cool huh?
@Locomotive45011 жыл бұрын
I'm a volunteer at that railroad museum out in Campo and Bob Nickles (engr. Bob) is still an active volunteer. I find it funny that while Brakeman Dave is receiving the emergency news over the radio, the emergency brake valve is right in front of him! Oh well, great video anyhow! Come ride the train in Campo!

LOL isn't there some FRA mandate for an emergency brake valve on every passenger car? And the camera's at full zoom, but the train isn't actually moving. And from what I know from my museum train experiences is that it's probably rolling no more than 30. I'd think a 3-car trainset would stop within 600 feet.
