Katja, this was quite the spicy Batman cover. Even though I was alive when Batman and Batman Returns came out, Batman Forever was really my first experience with the Caped Crusader in cinematic form. Not really being interested in most music at the time, this is honestly the first time I've ever heard this song! Like so many of the covers you perform for us, I much prefer your version and would likely give a pass to the original, as it's just not my style. Still, what you have shared with us is perfect for On a One Hot Night and fits perfectly into the seedy underbelly of Gotham City that we are only occasionally exposed to. Most of the crimes we see committed in the city involve violence, theft, or terrorism. It's interesting to see you shine a spotlight on the red light district with this song which describes so well the depravity and corruption which Batman struggles so strongly against. Speaking of the lyrics, I have been playing through Far Cry 5 again and some of the lines from this echo into that so well, about citizens being holed up, speaking of the preacher forgiving sins, escape into the Bliss, all while the politicians do nothing but fatten themselves and leave the people to be carrion for the crows. I wonder if you see some of those parallels as well. I also find it extremely funny that years ago when the MMORPG City of Villains came out, the first character I made was a Mastermind named "The Velvet Daddy-O". I kid you not. He was a humongous brute of a man similar to Kingpin, wearing a purple pinstripe suit and a large matching top hat who whipped out his cell phone to command his underlings to go forth and commit mischief and mayhem on his behalf as he puffed away on a Cuban cigar. Thank you for bringing back a memory I had long forgotten. Once again, your interpretation of this song was wonderful as always and I appreciate it much more than the original. Your creativity is boundless and I am so grateful that you share it so willingly with us. I enjoyed your dancing and sassy attitude throughout the video which accompanied your dark angelic voice marvelously. Your piano playing was excellent and you did a fantastic job of mixing together instruments you don't normally use in your other songs. I am so proud of you and the progress you have made as a producer and artist since I first found your channel. Remember, nothing about your early work is cringe, it's all part of your amazing journey, and those early steps helped mold you into the creator you are today.
