I really am torn here. I really do not want to see a man lose his career over what could amount to being poor judgement while under the influence of alcohol when he believed he was surrounded by friends(who needs enemies when you have friends like these). But David Coote goes beyond showing he does not like or respect Klopp. He displays he has a propensity to hold a grudge. But he takes it further in stating his dislike for everyone at the club and Liverpool except for James Milner and then his knuckle dragging friend tells us "we all hate scousers". David Coote displays his propensity for holding a grudge and if we are to judge his integrity to referee Premier League games again is now questionable for fear of his decision making unfairly impacting outcomes of matches, showpiece cup games and even league titles, then his career is over because he has proven his propensity for holding a grudge. If he is demoted to the Championship, then who can guarantee we will not find ourselves questioning this mans integrity again after clashing with another manager! If he had simply said "Oh I had a disagreement with Klopp, so I try to avoid talking to him anymore" then I don't see an issue. The fact is he went much further by showing a much stronger level of emotions toward Klopp, Liverpool, Liverpool Football Club and then "we all hate scousers". During the derby game at Everton Pickford put a two footed knee high tackle on Van Dijk, it was the most blatant penalty and red card I have ever seen. Van Dijk had to undergo knee surgery and did not play for a season. David Coote on VAR give offside and later said he forgot to check the challenge?? He then disallowed an injury time winning goal for an offside offense NOBODY could see or understand and the game ends 1- 1. We lost the Premier League title by 1 point behind Man City, that winning goal at Everton hands the title to Liverpool.

Coote was on VAR for the Rodri handball vs Everton, the challenge on Macallister vs City, the Odegard basketball display, waved on the Bailey last man foul on Saturday, reffed the Pickford GBH of Van Dyk - all incompetence and just a coincidence? Simon not in favour of 'archaic offences' and yet what appeared to be simply multiple examples of gross incompetency involving the same team (all at critical junctures in their season) surely has to be considered in a different light? There deffo needs to be more transparency in the PGMOL. No more protecting your mates. It's just like the police. They always close ranks if someone dares scrutinizing them. The VAR referee should be made available after the game to answer questions from journalists on why they made certain decisions. It's no different from other people under public scrutiny. The last caller is a buffoon. It hasn't come out until now because it was on some guy's phone; a friend of former friend and it has been released by him now either out of spite or because he showed it to somebody else who then decided to release it. As with many people who muck up/fail these days he will probably be promoted upward. The PGMOL will more then likely give him some directorial position within their organisation or he’ll end up refereeing in the Saudi league earning more money than you can shake a stick at.

If I acted like that and criticised my management in that manner I would be sacked from my company and there wouldn’t be mediation or anything of that sort. Why are we not moving on to the next Ref, this guy is shown to be flawed in his judgement.

So Simons view is that Liverpool fans and scousers are particularly sensitive. After the whole city fighting for justice for over 30 years does he not think that could somehow be the reason. Please don't use the victim card on a whole city again.

I'm sure most refs have let go a decision they shouldn't of in a game because of their feelings towards pkayers/managers. Were his decisions that impactful in Liverpool games or others and i'm sure Mr Klopp has thicker skin than most to be concerned. Storm in a tea cup for me, we all fcuk up and is it really worth ruining the man's life for a stupid mistake?? Not for me it doesn't!! YNWA!! ✌

I was at the Liverpool match last week against Villa, and Coote's performance was poor to put it mildly; I for one was far from happy with it due to the large number of decisions I think he got wrong.
