One of my old professors always told us that the difference between the robber barons or the pre-industrial slave owners and the ultra-rich of today is that "sooner or later old money always bankrupted itself with conspicuous displays of wealth. Today's billionaires couldn't spend themselves broke even if they tried." And this has always stuck with me.

I hate dealing with medical bills. Anything other than a straight forward, basic doctor visit is a convoluted nightmare designed to make life as miserable as possible for the individual. To say the system is broken is an understatement.

Yes, designed to be a convoluted nightmare. Sickening what they put people through.

Nobody is trying to fix the root problems we have in this country. Everyone is stuck focusing on making enough money so that the problems don't apply to them anymore.

Very frustrating, I'm sure. It's scary being so vulnerable to these companies.

I don’t know how this ended up in my feed but I gotta say it’s both interesting and infuriating at the same time. 😂

This is why American healthcare is so expensive - we've cut up every single possible part of it into a different company and privatized all of it for profit.

Im so glad we dont have to deal with this in Canada. Our healthcare system is far from perfect, but it is definitely better than what you have to go through in the US. When you dont have to focus on who is paying the bill, you are better able to focus on recovery.

And while ALL of this is frustrating...please remember something MOST PEOPLE ABSOLUTELY FORGET. The 9 to 5 workers may not be doing their basic job to get their paycheck. I have WORKED WITH, and DELT WITH personally JUST THAT. No less REDICULIOUS but still. Oh, and Anything you send via mail...Send it Certified

Yup, when we , who pay for healthcare insurance , have to do all the work to make sure everyone gets paid, you know the system is not working
