Thank god someone came out and said that there’s no such thing as cheating in art. I trace and always felt guilty by doing that. So I tried for ages to freehand and it would take me three times as long and then I’d be so peeved that it didn’t work and I’d leave the project. Thanks for your KZbin’s. They make sense!!!!!

Same 😂 I can't draw backgrounds and rooms... that's why I learned how to make 3d models of them. Now I just need to trace them. Not only that! I can even draw character's in the same environment multiple times without losing consistency! It's great :)

I freehand and trace, and don't care what people say. However now I do want to try and get some tracing paper, especially when I experiment with dry pastels. Thank you for saying there is no cheating in art.

Now I need more tracing Can the charcoal pencils that come in the pack with the different graphite pencils be used for the sketch or the tracing outline for canvas acrylic paint so it won't show through in time?

I don't have a problem with tracing but if You Literally take a base off from the creator and make it your own style and post it to Instagram that's copyrighting because you're taking something from The creator.

Maybe this sounds a little unrealistic and pedantic but what if artist enters art competition, gets a buddy to draw the entry, wins contest even though rules stipulate entries must be made by the entrant. Or artist fakes a painting, claims its by an old master and sells it for millions.

Thank you for making this video. I once had someone tell me that, “if I was a REAL artist I wouldn’t need an eraser...” really bro? You think Michaelangelo never erased anything? 😝 Side note, you can make transfer paper with graphite, tracing paper and lighter fluid on a cotton ball. It saves you having to trace the back just to transfer the design and it lasts for so long!

here let me give you some ammo to use against those douche bags. as a tattoo artist I use my lightbox all the time cause I am not going to draw out a design when a client gives me 4 or 5 designs they want in it. when I am done with the design I then take that to the stencil machine. from there I put that stencil on the client I TRACE it with my machine. I have been charging folks 500 an hour and I guess I am a cheater because I didn't actually draw anything til it was on the skin. boom tell me I have to charge less because I use my tools. P.S. I am booked 6 months out so no I cant hook you up hahahaha great vid

It's cheating when you print something then cover it with colorpencil and claim that you draw it raw or whatever. But if it's not cheating, then the person doing it is fooling himself.

Yes. You can make a charcoal transfer paper by filling a page with charcoal and use that under your sketch to transfer.
