Frankly the fact that there's a carnival as large and lauded as this for a foreign culture shows how much any concept of social integration for immigrants has gone out the window. The issue here is with the government not wanting to impose law and order, but just go with the flow. The end result will come when an even worse situation occurs. Jamaica has nothing to do with it, unless your forefathers we’re immigrants in the 1960s when the NHC came about out of frustration for something Caribbean in order to show the local community that diversity existed…What we see today is NOTHING to do with how it all began.

It has been 30 years since I was last in London and I've no desire to go back any time soon. Being born and living most of my life in a rural Lincolnshire village of less than 2000 people, I like peace and quiet in my life. The UK seems determined to remain decades behind modern policing in that they refuse to let their officers carry guns. This is truly one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen, in terms of being able to perform the job in this day and age. I don’t know how the British police force manage to recruit potential officers. What are they to do when answering a call involving bar fights with knives, or worse, those pesky criminals who just don’t abide by the rules and actually possess a gun. I wonder how many officers have lost their lives going up against armed combatants? Too many, I suspect.
