I am so glad to hear that Frank is doing well...I was worried sick about him because I thought he had something wrong with his hind legs. I am so happy to hear he's back to his old beautiful self! I think he's the most beautiful Basset Hound I have ever seen (even more than my Lumis who passed many years ago). He reminds me so much about my old Basset. Give him my love and tell him he needs to get ready for Santa!

A real chow hound. I'm lucky my guy actually leaves food in the bowl when he's full.

I tried this trick with my Labrador - she just picked up the ball and dropped it in the water bowl.

It slowed Frank down a teeny, teeny bit, and it seems it's enough since he's only had one belly-ache in the last 10 days. Thanks again for your fun music that I finally got to use!

Big hugs for Frank!!! That ball didn't slow him down that much did it ;) LOL nothing gets between a basset and it's food.

I either don't believe that Frank slows down his eating pace... I fully agree with mszoomy: Nothing can brake a basset from hunting its food... #LOL By the way, thanks very much for your congratulation! I hope our sweet daughter will grow soon and fast and we get the right time to finally get a basset! :-))

Our Livvy eats like this! I'm afraid to give her rib or ham bones because she "inhales" them and doesn't stop to even taste them. She is so afraid that Mia is going to get something special that every meal to Livvy is a "last supper". She is definitely a Hoover!

@TychosDead Yes, Frank had two cysts removed a couple of months ago, one on each side. His hair is growing back nicely, just in time for winter!

I've seen bowls at Petco especially made for slowing down eating/drinking too.

Leave that dog outdoors to forage for meals of rabbits, rats, moles, raccoons and such. A low glycemic diet!
