Thanks for including me this month jimmy. Been having a blast running my train in my basement. Looking to expand to another room this winter. Keep up the great work jimmy!

I really dig how you're running around the rooms and through the wall. Please share/post some more videos if you get a chance.

Many many thanks for including me this month. Got mixed in with a great bunch. Can’t wait to submit my two new layouts. Learned so much from this channel.

Really fun to see all these layouts, and it's also comforting to know that at age 77, while my modeling skills are still stuck at the 10 year old level, that makes no difference. Fun is the key. These layout videos are super cool!🙂

I can't figure out a way to choose a personal favorite. There's something to like about all the submissions. Thanks for making this a regular segment.

Love. Love. Love. The layouts! So many different varieties are going on around the world and you bring them all together, Jimmy. What a wonderful thing to watch on a Thursday morning. No coffee today just nice glass of cold water to wake me up. I’ll submit some pictures of my U-shaped 6 x 11 x 4 layout soon.

Thanks for showing my layout. I’ve done so much more and my mom has sent me the other 6 foot backdrop. Congrats to all on this session. They all look great!

I like these videos showing various layouts. I'm heading to Vegas to visit Westside Trains & Hobbies and my dad. I'm drinking Folgers instant.

I picked up some 8 O'Clock Coffee to try as cold brew this time. I've spent too much on Starbucks, managed to get Dunkin' cold brew pouches, but moved away from the store that had them in pouches. Doppelganger makes a decent reusable coldbrew pouch from what I've discovered so far! I've just sent in my own N scale layout in it's "approaching finished" state before setting it aside and starting on my HO scale permanent layout in our new house.

I just got my first n scale loop going under and around my 3 home office screens on my desk. it streches over three monitor stands and a bunch of old Nintendo DS game boxes, as they happen to have the same height as the monitor stands, which on their own do not stretch over the width of the loop. Perhaps ill send a photo once i get it on something more stable than a bunch of wobbly plastic boxes.... but it's a start right now! Ill sit in a meeting and just watch the train go round and round when my mind needs a break for a couple of minutes.

AHM of Philly imported the Minitrains HOn30 line that was made by Rivirossi. I never got a set of any items but thought they were cool. A number of Japanese companies made HOn30 items too. Thx

Saw the Bethlehem Steel car in the video. It reminded me of a place I went to as a kid while living in Easton, Pa I think it was called Roadside America. So many great trains! Can anyone confirm this, and is it still somewhere in that area? Thanks!

I am new to watching. # 1: Do you have links to all the featured layouts? # 2: Also a link(s) to accessories manufacturers' sites. Personal situation: I lost the end of my roof (Oklahoma 😂) tornado or wind damage, which exposed my layout area / 10 X 10 hobby room to rain/all elements (fortunately I had enclosed it with a plexiglass cover for dust and variable LED lighting😊 not cheap when I did it but priceless now!). My insurance did not cover enough to repair the (old) home, so I am downsizing to an apartment with HOA restrictions on wall attachments. As my former layout was an 18", 8ft. X 10ft. shelf around that 10 x 10 room, benchwork freestanding- some can be recycled- but firmly anchored to 3 walls and the top of a split bookcase with a "swing- away bridge section between the 2 bookcase sections, I cannot "just cut down the benchwork and reinstall it as WAS. *The BEST I will be able to re- build (move) is an L- shape along 2 walls with the bottom of the "L" a long the short wall with either a turning loop,a double wye, or turntable in a 3 x 3 ft. new corner section (or combination thereof) on one wall end using free-standing salvaged benchwork --with approx 10 feet of the long upright of the "L" "leg" along one wall and (attached to a 3 piece set of bookshelves bolted together as a solid unit)😂 with a drop -down hinged "fiddle yard" approx 3 feet long. Short story, I am desperate to get everything I can moved and. "Kinda presentably set up in the apt, as the house has been condemned and scheduled for demolition 😢. I am looking for ANY examples of this type of layout. I am 69, and moving was nowhere in my extended planning. Above are the basics of what I need in a layout plan. I'm thinking a "point to point industrial switching layout combined with an outside mainline turning track for longer runs (sort of a 90 degree, L - shape "folded dog bone" 18in shelf middle section. Anything promising in this type of plan from ANYONE is welcome. It's been almost 30 years since I planned my old one, so I'm already digging out my old "beginner books" and my huge collection of older Model Railroader and Railroad Model Craftsman magazines from that era!❤😂.

Hey Jimmy. I tried sending you pictures of my layout, did you happen to get them?
@andrewl91913 күн бұрын
I think he's said that you don't usually hear about submissions, or if you did it's just something quick. I sent a link a little bit ago and haven't heard. I'm sure it's fine based on the impressions I got from the mention in the past.

Why does no one submit actually finished or near finished work?
@andrewl91913 күн бұрын
I like that there's a wide variety. That's one of the things that's sometimes too bad about the big magazines. They've got layouts that are finished that don't show much of the process, so the publisher of often forced to make a project of their own. I have seen completed sections though. It feels like it's less likely that you'll find a model railroad that's finished or nearly finished that for you to find one that is still being worked on, especially if the person just isn't in the position to finish.
@erichusmann51452 күн бұрын
Sometimes those do go in--it's just that this month a lot of them weren't. I sent one in late last year that is done, but it hasn't cropped up in the layout shows yet. I've got another one getting ready to go in once I verify it's still working (after a stow and restore cycle at least)--the one probably won't show until 2026, and is "done besides ground cover". Also... No model railroad is ever "finished". It's just "good enough for now".
