The role of BBC Chairman is merely a well paid sinecure. The new chairman will make no difference whatsoever. So, he previously spent quite a lot of time in senior positions at the BBC as one of Jimmy Savile's contemporaries. That's Interesting.

Does the BBC make any programs anymore? Others are saying that the BBC commission others to make them.

There are two parts to the BBC. There is the part that gets the licence fee and the other part that holds all of the profitable parts of the BBC and sells programming around the world. The private part takes money from the public part to make programs. The private part then charges the public part every time one of its programs is broadcast while selling the same programs to everyone else. FYI, BBC India (licence supported) has just been passed to the private side of the BBC in the last couple of weeks. This is obvious asset stripping.

The technical side of making such a TV would probably be fairly easy in this day and age, but the BBC has a lot of supporters in high places. Those people would prevent the idea from getting off the ground.

Last time I heard that, I was assured by a translator that he'd arrived home late against his better judgement 🤤 to find the dinner in the dog, the batteries missing from his tv remote control (and he was missing the footy) and as he was heading to raid the fridge he had stood on a piece of Lego.
