THERE'S A SMALL PROBLEM...

So unfortunately, there is a small problem with the guitar that I received last week. On the plus side, it is an easy fix and I should have it back by the end of the weekend. It's nothing that I am willing to deal with, even if it is easy. If I don't know something, I don't try to be a hero and risk effing it up! Once this is smoothed out, we will be greeted and mistreated by brutal riffage! It's coming guys. Sorry for the delay but s**t happens, and that is a damn fact of life!

I'm very sorry, brother, that this error slipped in, for some reason this had to happen, even if we don't even know the reason why, but it happened. I am absolutely not proud of this, but it is the truth. Yes, this also shows that we are human and no matter how much we pay attention, the error slips into the hands of our work with a satisfied grin. And we have no choice but to accept and fix it. Kevin... on behalf of everyone, thank you for being honest, and I apologize to everyone for keeping you waiting for what you were so eager for. But don't be afraid, you won't be disappointed in the end 🤟

Ha ha ha ha ha awesome analogy of FedEx, Kevin, I worked for FedEx for over a year as a package handler in Lake Orion, Michigan, and they sucked, they work people like slaves and they don’t give a crap if you get injured. They will just let you go and that’s what happened to me. I messed up my ankle on the job site and they threw me out. FedEx does a really poor job with handling packages. I am very sorry that you’re beautiful new Guitar is now damaged and messed up with your electronics. I hope that the body or anything else didn’t get damaged as well. Very unfortunate. I’m very sorry for that. I hope you can get it fixed soon. Long time, subscriber and big-time fan of yours! 🤘🎸😎

@@PhantomLink16I had a similar job working for a underground drilling company for a gold mine, and fucked up my back and was to scared to say something because everyone would hate on you for getting hurt, because after the goldmine sees that all the contractors are getting hurt the company working the goldmine will lose the contract, so they will try to hide injuries from the goldmine …. So now I got a fucked up back in 2 places and fucked up hip because of it

Worked for both Amazon and FedEx, people do not give af. Workers think packages are invincible for some reason or they go out of their way to mess with packages. Super annoying, hope everything works out.

For what it cost to pay someone to solder some wires; i'd say its worth learning how to solder! It's actually really really easy with the right tools. A quality soldering station like a Hakko FX-888d and some tip tinner makes all the difference... Following a couple youtube guides on how to solder connections will have you wiring pickups in like a pro.

I was thinking the same thing! I like Kevins stand when he realizes he´s limitations and handing it over to someone else to do it right. Especially when it is such a special guitar. I get that. BUT! Learning basic soldering skills is so worth it. You can learn it from a 15 min youtube-tutorial and practice for a hour and then you got it for the rest of your life. My first soldering-experiment after the 15-min video and the hour of soldering meaningless components and cables together was to build a HM-2 kit. (I shouldn´t have started with that, it´s a very big circuit for a guitar-pedal=many oppurtunities to make mistakes). But that said, it worked at the first try and now a couple years later i have built maybe 50 pedals, a modular synth and are designing and ordering my own circuit boards. But the biggest payoff with aquiring soldering skills for me has absolutely without doubt been the ability to fix things. All the noisy, wonking, intermittent electronic small issues destroying our daily lives are very often fixed completely with a 2-min solder-job. I do recommend Kevin to get a pedal kit though and just get a cheap 20$ soldering iron. There are many companies you can buy kits from and they come with instructions and everything you need to finish it. And it is a great feeling to stomp on a pedal you built yourself and get a heavy distorsion. You can finish a pedal in a evening or two depending on the size of the circuit and it´s a great way to get confident with soldering. If you know you can make a pedal you wont be afraid to do small repairs. I love soldering. I was on heavy drugs for many years and when i quit them i started building things instead. Listening to music and just soldering, very good for your mind and soul :-).

I just ripped out all my electronics in my guitar for solderless systems. Much faster, troubleshooting is faster, pickup changing faster, removes the need for soldering tools and tin etc etc etc.

Was listening to Pierced from Within just a short while back. What an album, love 90s death metal tones that's got that extra grind and bass heavy overtones. Not an American but I've only heard horror stories of FedEx shipping in America.

The good news about electronics, even with a CTS, dpdt, or whatever special pot and wiring, with 1 pickup, even if EVERYTHING needs to be replaced... including a new Naz... it should be VERY easy to do. With all the parts (which would be the worst-case... having to wait for a new pup to ship) a skilled guitar tech (even moderately skilled) could rewire it from scratch in less than 20 minutes. It shouldn't be a problem.

from what you describe about the sound dropping out it sounds like the electronics aren't grounded properly, could've been a solid soldering job by the luthier before he shipped it, but maybe something came a bit loose during shipping. it's a simple problem to fix so you should have it back in no time. the fact that your pickups sound thinner could be that the coils of the pickup are wound in the same direction, so they sort of cancel each other out. swapping the 2 wires from one of those coils should fix that.

Sounded like the top coil was dead. That happened to me with my jackson SL2 Pro, the bridge pickup was weak output. Took it back to the local music shop where I bought it from and they had the pickup replaced, and then it became my main guitar for a good number of years. Hopefully your guy can figure this one out!

I've only had these kind of problem with guitars in which you could switch pickups, and it usually fixes itself by switching back and forward to the pickup, but since its a single humbucker with no switch something has to be wrong with the pickup or wiring.
