Ive had 3 day's off in the last 8 weeks, the last 3 weeks consisted of 12-14 hour day's for 4 days and the rest were 10 hour day's. I was assured I'd get two days off this week. I got called in for forced overtime on Sunday. I'd just sat down to after-church brunch with my sister and her family. Shift manager met me at the plant gate, smiling and apologizing for calling me in. I told him "the less you talk to me right now, the better it is for everyone, especially that malingering little shit that called off". The cooker house operator later told me I looked "beyond pissed" when I came in. There are day's that I really get Roscoe's worldview.

If it is only a dollar hour then why do companies not want to pay it to their employees. I had a boss like that he was hiring in guys at more than we were being paid. So I quit after 5 years strictly on principle. Worked out for me I raised my hourly wage 11.20 in the past year or so. It’s a great time to be tradesmen.

@XenN if you can’t make payroll then you don’t have much of a business. And if you look at wage growth over the last 20 years it has been stagnant and lagging behind inflation. And I don’t know what other reason a person would go to work than for money. I will repeat again it’s a great time to have trade. My current job pays about 6 dollars above market for my area. They want to hire and retain help and the words from the big boss it’s cheap to pay a good hourly wage than search and high and low and never be able to keep help.
