To me this says that the Krampus from the 2015 movie is necessarily good or evil. He just punishes those who harm others or cause them to loose the Spirit of Christmas, but does give them a chance. If the person(s) can truly change and redeem themselves then he sets them free with a warning, but if they refuse then…. That makes me wonder about Omi’s parents. They were never returned, so does that mean that Krampus found them irredeemable?
