Hi there just follow the instructions on label and water when dry. They can all be grown in borders or pots but will need potting on to bigger pots. If you put in pots use a compost. Home bargains, in excess and German supermarkets do it cheap and it's pretty good.

I'm back! Wasn't getting notifications for some reason. Great bag. How unusual. All will add much needed colour in your garden over the winter. The Skimmia is an evergreen shrub. Plant it towards the back of the flower border to the depth it is in the pot. Make sure there is room around it as it will grow fairly big over time. Loosen some of the roots carefully don't just take it out the pot and in a hole. The Hellebore is a perennial which means it comes back each year. They don't grow high so towards the front of a border. Primrose is another perennial and they go at the front of a border as they don't grow high at all. Seriously there are loads of you tube channels to show you how to prune and care for them or the RHS site. I'd definitely dead head the Hellebore and dead leaves. Keep the labels so you know what you have. Particularly with the Skimmia and Hellebore make sure they don't dry out the first year until they establish. I'd put some slow release granule food in the potting hole. Good luck!

From my personal experience and of course, YMMV, 50% of anything Dobbies sell from their full price houseplant range is routinely likely to die since I checked out those on display and all are overwatered and/or badly tended shoot wise ! . A second word of warning is that many trees have crossed the brown crinkly bridge long before the leaves fall off. Buying plants blind is therefore a tough call and ideally, you should never buy any plant, indoor or outdoor, without ensuring that you have determined you have the right soil and location for the plant and then examined the plant, tree or shrub that it's roots are not stinking - it means pulling the plant out of the pot and examining the roots at the very least. Soil and roots should smell like a forest floor not like a pub kitchen waste bin. That said, a well presented run down of a Too Good to Go /Bargain Bin offer.

I guess with any TGTG there's an element of risk. Perhaps more so in this case, as like you say there is no guarantee that you'd be able to offer the right conditions for the plant to thrive at all. I appreciate you taking the time to provide such a detailed comment.

I just love Hellebores but I have never grown one. They flower very early in the year. In the nearby park they grow in the herbaceous borders. Primroses look very substantial. Plant them where you are going to be able to see them! I say this because I randomly planted mine and they get hidden by the daffodils. The fencing looks good in your garden.

I've had one for 22 years, it's sheltered, shaded not often watered and just keeps going. Planted it when I moved here, very sad specimen but it survived. The good one I paid a lot for died after a couple of months.

Dobbies Goings all the way up in to Scotland. Now from a garden centre you may not get much since the prices for food and the plants are not all that cheap. Since Dobbies is a POSH garden centre Now you have to ask for what you see does it really look worth it. they have plants reduced anyway. And I still say RRP means nothing so saying these plants are worth £30 paying £24 for the 1st plant really many people would not want to pay more than a £10 for. people will still pay for these items even if they only flower next year as long as the plant does not look like there dead. So we need a follow up video to see proof of live of these plants. if you kill them all then the £10 was wasted.

the thing comes is that most garden centre food is not that cheap. they could have gave him 5 slices of tiny cake for the money. But plants a good way to dump stock but these would go in the reduced part and some could go under a £1 anyway.
