A lot of people are commenting on the "Brand New" lyrics, ll of which were in the original TAYF recordings. Jessie was in the band and left to form Brand New. Those were his lyrics left in the song. Theyve been there all along under the lead vocal lines. Go back and listen to the original track.
@falloutboy04032 жыл бұрын
"Those were his lyrics left in the song" No -- This was a completely new song written after Jesse left -- they ripped the lyrics from Seventy Times Seven. But yes, they were always there on the LP. Just hard to hear the second part.

Refrain for the song, probably to confirm that the song is a response to 70x7.

Hadlee Simons not as a response. this song was written by Jess Lacey of Brand New, when he was in TBS
@HadleeSimons11 жыл бұрын
Heh, I knew he was in TBS but did he write the song? Because I do recall in There's No I in Team, "I've got a twenty dollar bill" is also said, which was seemingly a reference to Mixtape. Heck, even Wiki's entry for Tell All Your Friends says so. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tell_All_Your_Friends Weird.
@rtc588411 жыл бұрын
Hadlee Simons hey i see you are a big tbs fan.. so am i.. do you know of any cool tbs forums? are forums still around? i remember back in 2004 i was in a dashboard confessional forum.. damn it i forgot the name but i used to get tabs and live videos… it was cool!
@ososuperpowers11 жыл бұрын
Hadlee Simons Those original lyrics were written by Vincent Accardi of 'Brand New' in the song Mixtape. Somehow from dispute John Nolan of (Straylight Run and TBS) stole the lyrics when he was starting the band with TBS. It was a dispute that dissolved some friendships. However Vincent Accardi wrote the lyrics not that it matters.

Adam doesn't sound like he used to at all, it's like he's not even trying. He doesn't sound like the original track. What the hell happened, I was a fan from like 2002 all through Louder Now, after that I wasn't into the new sound at all. Man, then I check back in on them years later and I guess I just wish they put more energy into their shows like they used to. I was on the itunes homepage and saw their name was trending, I was hopeful that they were good again but I'm not into this new style and sound. I miss Adam's old voice.

Gerard Way was already nearing 40s (when they last performed as MCR) yet sounded like himself all throughout and the mere fact that Adam is not a natural singer. Hehe. BUT, it's up to Adam to put effort to sound like his teen self again. Only effort. Hehe.

Why did they start singing Seventy Times 7 during the break?
@jkleeb8 жыл бұрын
aten97 this was Taking Back Sunday's response to Jesse Lacey writing seventy times seven for when his gf cheated on him with John. The last conversation they had with each on the phone finished with, "is that what you call tact? You're a subtle as a brick in the small of my back so let's end this call and end this conversation". The statement Seventy times seven means forgiving. Jesse, John and Adam played together before he left and made brand new. ...Or so that's how it's perceived by the interviews. Who really knows

Soul Intent I think he meant the part where the guest vocalist sang the first part of the seventy times 7 bridge.

Nikki X it's because it was originally in this song before Seventy times 7. It was originally Jesse's vocal part before he left Taking Back Sunday.

Absolutely. It is common knowledge that once a man hits his 30s, he develops this Southern accent. The original version's vocals did not contain a hint of southern influence.

Jovi2112 He’s from the south actually, he lived in NY for awhile but he’s back in Texas. People tend to get their accents back when they go back home. My ex is from Boston and whenever we were around his family he would get that accent back for awhile.
