This is not about AD. Jokic is a likely top 10 player of all time. He’s gonna dominate, he’s a legend. Jamal Murray averaged 32 PPG in the series last year, then 22 in the finals. Murray v LAL guards will decide the series.

The x factor going into the series is the Nuggets’ defense. I don’t think most people realize that the Nuggets had the 8th best defense in the league, which has a good chance of shooting up since the Nuggets are playoff risers. So not only are the Nuggets gonna get theirs, but the Lakers gonna have huge trouble getting theirs if the Nuggets’ defense do become a problem

Lakers need to shut down the other guys, let Jokic score 40-50, keep letting him overexert himself one person, he won't be able to keep it up each game, he's still human. Overly focusing on Jokic will just give this monstrous superstar an easier time to elevate and activate his teammates, sharing the overall burden. A shared spread out burden is easier to recover from, than a heavy one on one person over and over again.

The issue is the depth of the nuggets and how well the whole teams plays on defense and offense. If Anthony davis makes 25 shots it’s because the nuggets made him shoot thirty shots and he shot inefficiently. I’ll give the Lakers 1 game maybe two but it’s going to be really hard. Deangelo Russell can’t play in this matchup we know this he gets played off the court so who steps up in his place? Also Jokic and Murray and MPJ can combine for 85-90 points and AG 15-20 I don’t see the Lakers being able to score effectively down stretch

The Lakers strategy should be to make Joker work on defense. AD has to go at him hard, make him move and go through screens. AD has to outscore him period. On defense foul him hard at times with players like Hayes and other benchers. Make him a scorer and ONLY double in selective times of game. And, the big KEY is to focus on Murray. Don't let Murray go off. The Lakers will need Reaves, Vincent, Dinwiddie and others to stick on Murray. Single coverage and don't leave Porter as well as KCP. Make Gordon hit outside shots.
