Let me be very clear. We do not have a 'labor shortage' in this country.
What we have is a working class who are saying they aren't going to work longer hours for lower wages in unsafe conditions while corporations make record profits.

Disclaimer: I'm independent and work for a railroad. Almost every politician and even the "pro-union" president stabbed us in the back by blocking our strike, Bernie had our backs and fought for us when almost every politician on both sides caved to corporate profits over working Americans. Most railroaders lean republican, but every railroader stands with Bernie for standing with us. ✊

I mean blue collar union trades have been running a 15 year labor deficit so the title of this video and your comment are just not correct….. You go into a hall on Monday, you’ll be on a job by Wednesday. Probably have great benefits and make decent money. But you’ll have to work extremely hard. All these politicians act like Americans are going to flock to the Josh because they say so, yet none of their bills address what these jobs are really like. You want medical care? Trade union jobs offer coverage for healthcare, dental, hearing, eyes, emergency room, prescription, and you pay lower deductibles than most sectors. You want a $15 minimum wage; average base level pay $18/hr - now with no skills. But these are also industries that are Top 5 for alcoholism, divorce, suicide and mortality. It doesn’t seem like these pro union politicians really know the work union men and women actually perform. Construction estimates a shortage of 600,000 workers before the demand to meet infrastructure needs from the passed bills in the last 2 years. It’s estimated with those bills there’s a 2.3 million worker labor deficit. All these politicians talk about how new labor will come in, well where is it? And here’s the crazy thing - construction isn’t even running the largest deficit…… So your comments are flat out inaccurate! Maybe Starbucks has enough labor, but not all sectors are like that

I lived in the UK for many years, now live in Europe. So it's only in the last few years I've become aware of Senator Bernie Sanders. It took me less than a week to realise that he is the politician I've been looking for all my life, and in fact had given up hope of finding. You are loved, admired, respected and UNDERSTOOD in Europe. I wish you would come here, where you are appreciated.

Bernie is loved and appreciated right here in America. He’s our only hope of ending the duopoly, massive government and corporate corruption and saving the Planet from Global Warming. The problem is the political system in the United States is totally corrupt. It’s rigged and as a direct result, Bernie can’t win if he runs as a Democrat in the DNC Primary. They literally engage in election fraud, voter suppression and other tactics to steal the election from him. He literally won in 2016 and 2020 and the DNC outright stole it from him.

I have a BFA and a MsED and I've I don't want to loss my SSDI because I still need to go to OT/PT as well as doctors and be on medications for the rest of my life. I just don't want to be a burden, and I want to prove my life still has meaning even though I've been fired for my disability 3 times in NYC. Which is a gut punch for me! 😢 I was treated better than others because I have a semi-invisable disability. I'VE SEEN WORKERS' HIDDEN IN BASEMENTS. WHERE IS THE ADA? The only problem I see with this is, for example, I live in New Jersey and we are an at will employment state and basically an employer doesn’t have to really have any reason specifically to fire you and it is known here that if you work at a company that is nonunion and you try to bring in a union they WILL get rid of you but they won’t make it abundantly clear that they are firing you for attempting to form a Union. They have people who work for these places that will come up with the reason to fire you that would make it look like they are just using their “at will” employment right in my state. So how will that be implemented in a state like mine because it would basically be our word (the little guy) against their’s?

"If you fire workers for organizing, you will be fined." I am deeply saddened to say how hard that clause will be to enforce. Too easy for workplaces to cite some minor infraction as cause of termination. However, I still support the Act, and if it does pass, people looking to organize, _keep your own work records, if possible._ Make sure you can prove unionizing was the reason of termination, then the Act can be enforced!

Why is this such a radical idea?? It’s that classic, “I don’t care about this person because they don’t effect me and all I care about is money.” And then it’s, “Hey why are there no lazy workers to make my coffee??” You can’t treat people like crap, don’t pay them a livable wage, take time from their happiness and family, and then expect them to be a silent miserable coffee machine you can turn on and off as you please? These people keep the gears running no matter how insignificant their help to AMeriCa seems because you clear 6 figures and you can empathize or sympathize. Wtf!!

Especially in Vermont. And, if everyone on SS/SSDI were getting enough to live on, we wouldn't be competing for jobs with younger workers who need those jobs.

Weird question Mr. Sanders: I've read the summary of the PRO Act, and it does prohibit employers from entering into a union waiver agreement with employees. However, under this law, am I, as an employee, allowed to voluntarily refuse to join a union? If there is to be a right to join a union, there also ought to be a right to not join a union. I acknowledge that I am taking my chances with non-union membership. Still, based on my beliefs, I would still like the option to remain non-union.

✊ LOVE ME SOME BERNIE❤🤍💙❣ His heart for the people and his TRUE patriotism are incredibly admirable - things you rarely find in today's politics!!! The man's a saint, and the proof of his selflessness can be found in the tenacity and passion of the uphill fights he puts forth on behalf of struggling Americans🤗!!! It's exhausting to even think about how much he does... I couldn't do it NOW- let alone, once I hit my 80's🫡👍❢❢❢

I just hope these fines are significant enough to deter their current behavior. Usually if the penalty for breaking a rule is just a fine then it's only a rule for poor people.
@sparkledragon6216
@sparkledragon6216 Жыл бұрын
The fines have to be enormous. Like in the billions for major corps. And non-negotiable. It's either pay up and welcome unions or lose your corporate charter. Losing a corporate charter is the death penalty for businesses. That's why you never hear about it.

Pass the Pro-Act! it should be linked to the fifth amendment as in it must be a quick and speedy trail at the earliest of convenience, and should allow for the labor union rights to a representative lawyer on there behalf.

Today I went to Walmart see a lot hardworking people working. Many of them are working mothers . There was a time Walmart used to give lots of shares of Walmart to its employees. I don't think Walmart will survive if these people go on strike. Also I see Resturants pay people just 4 dollars plus tip. If they don't get tipped they are working less than minimum wage. I think we should change laws that they get minimum wage , plus bonus, shares of company,plus sick leave. The companies can afford it, at IHOP they charge 14 dollars for an omlette. I could make the same omelet for under 3 dollars max at home. So what is the profit margin .I am assuming they can afford to give more to employee's. Let's give other people a fair shake, especially those at lower income level. Please don't tell me these workers don't want to work, in fact they are literally working for slave wages extremely hard. I suggest the Federal Govt start making houses very affordable for such low income people. Yes possibly provide very low interest loans based on income. Some of these working mothers can't meet their ends and become victims to loan sharks, paying exorbitant interest rates.

@@lindapietrasz8070 oh no it's more than that, look republicans are objectively evil, but democrats are also very corrupt. Someone like Bernie (who's one of the least corrupt politicians in the us currently) will need to fight that, now idk if you know how much trump is fighting to be the president against DeSantis, but it's a lot and unlike trunp Bernie doesn't have a cult following (which is good) therefore he has even less power. Bernie will need to overcome the fact that he's incorrupt and won't get the support he needs from dems to become a president, just like trump, your vote counts but if the dems don't want or want something/someone it's safe to say they can act that way
