The fact there's no Maurice at the end segment of the song really fits the vibe. No matter how far you go, how much you search. Everything is dead because of you, and soon you will be too. I imagine 9-1 is there mostly to build tension, you were told through books and dialog in Layer 8 that 9 was so dangerous only Gabriel with the light of God in him had survived. Yet, when you arrive, theres nothing. Which is worse than something, because you are running out of blood fast. Even if you wanted to backtrack or could backtrack to previous layers, theres nothing left in them. This is it. You're lucky to find a few stray husks, a single Maurice is the only enemy of note in this entire barren void. Only thing left to do is see what the end brings you, as the denizens of 9-1 had to have gone somewhere, but only 9-2 will have the answers you seek. Even if its a one way trip, V1 persists.

hmm, very good remaster. i prefer the first 20ish seconds from the original and i prefer the old main art (although i think the remaster one looks slightly more like hakita art) but the castle vein section is so much better excecuted and sounds overall much better.
