Well, how can they control you if you own?!!! None of these corporations want you to own anything. Why do you think it is more expensive short term to buy a car then to lease? they want you to have a car payment forever. Keeps the money coming in for them. Disney, Netflix, Hulu, HBO, all want you to rent monthly instead of owning the shows and movies. Houses are going beyond 30 years. 30 years to own a home? Or pay a lot of money and do 15. As long as you own nothing, they can tell you what to do. Why do you think the government, more specifically Biden and his liberals want to get rid of cash? They cannot track what you buy with cash. they cannot cut off your cash income. You go against the government and you do all your banking electronic, they can do what they did in Canada and freeze your money. And 90% of the population pays no attention to it. Most don't care. Because someone else will fight for them. Someone else will show up and protest. Someone else will shed blood and sweat so they can live everyday stupid.

These young people are pathetic. You shouldn't but a house until you have saved 20% to put down. THIS WAS NORMAL. 7% isn't a high rate. They have been told they can buy a 5000sqft home when they are 23 years old for nothing down and low interest. THIS WAS THE LIE. When houses cost $30,000, average wages were 10,000 per year. Now houses are 200,000 and average wages are 65,000. The difference today is the amount of crap people piss their money away on. Car loans, leases, subscription food services, grub hub, night clubs, toys toys toys.... Vacations because yolo! Degrees that don't pay mixed with absurd college debt for a field that doesn't pay. Yeah, its decisions that are the problem. Not house prices or interest rates. Tenth commandment: Thou shall not covet. Or JBP: Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today. Stop coveting what your neighbors have. Stop comparing yourself to someone who made significantly better decisions than you.

What else would you restrict corporations from doing? Where is the red line? Where does it end? The better question to ask is, WHY are corporations buying single family homes? They never used to do that before, so why now? The answer is simple. They see that profligate government spending, increasing the national debt by $1 Trillion every 100 days is highly inflationary. How do you protect yourself from inflation? Buy hard assets like real estate is the only way. If you solve the inflation problem, corporations will invest their money elsewhere where they can get a better return on their investment.

In 1960, my teenage father and his father walked into Sears and bought a house at Sears. They hired a man to pour the foundation and the house was delivered and put on the foundation. They spent the summer assembling the interior, cabinets, doors, electric, plumbing, etc, using the instruction book that came with the house. Then one government employee came to sign off on the house. Then a family of 4 rented it. It all cost roughly the price of a new car. The house is still standing and has a family still living in it. Today, it takes up to a year for me to get all the permits and a small army of government employees to do soil tests, slope ban analysis, engineers, architects just to begin renovation on my house in California. That is why housing is so expensive.

My son bought his first home last year... a townhome. His sister rents from him so she pays half the mortgage and utilities. I taught both kids how important it is to save and only buy what you can afford. The fact is, you will need to save your money. Always pay yourself first and live on a budget. Most of things people buy, they don't need. If you have to think about how you can afford something, then you probably shouldn't buy it. Most people do not understand how important it is to save. When it comes to this next election or any election, you really need to vote with your wallet.

My house now is $180k more than i bought it for, and interest rate now is 7.125% vs 3%. The past 3 years have been very hard to swallow, and it’s been official that rent is now cheaper than buying a home. But rent also increased 2-3x since 2021. Gen Z, too, are working at least 3 jobs to get by where they live. It is unfair for them. They had it worse than you and me… a lot of them will never be able to own a home.

They do not want a starter home. - they do not save for a downpayment, but indulge themselves with credit cards. That kid asking the question had a $70 water bottle dangling from his belt. - they want others to pay their debts. Paying off your student loans will put you in a good position to qualify for a mortgage. - few have skills to buy a low priced home and fix it up. - they ruin their credit, running up cards, with pizza and beer, concert tickets, and spring break money. - many are taking courses of study that will never result in a job that makes a salary to buy a home. The whole situation is screwed. I’m so lucky I saved up and bought in 2019. I got in when prices were at their lowest AND interest rates were under 3%. If I hadn’t done that in that exact moment, I wouldn’t be a homeowner. In fact, if I had waited just 9 months, my house increased by over 50% in value. It’s come down since then, but it just goes to show how ridiculous it was and how lucky I got. You shouldnt be required to live a productive life AND get insanely lucky just to own a home. Having one or the other of those is fine, but having to meet both criteria is how we are going to end up with serious violence.

The numbers you are saying are true. I used to be a mortgage lender. However, I’d like to add that the price of homes back then were probably lower, home insurance was probably lower, not sure about taxes back then, etc. Long story short, we need to look at principle, interest, taxes, and insurance vs average income of Americans now in comparison to Americans back in the 80s. Previous generations did not have to deal with some of the nonsense that first time home buyers have to deal with today.

Therein lies the problem. Basic economics and finance is not taught anywhere below college level. The vast majority of people have no clue how the financial system works never mind using it to their own benefit. This is not an accident; it is all by design. The government wants stupid tax donkeys who will just keep working and pay taxes without asking any questions.

Every country in the western world*. Its by design, its handed down from the wef. Its why we all have wokeism, dei, globalism instead of nationalism. Why your tax money is spent abroad rather than at home. Why corporates are put ahead of people. Drive society into the ground then replace it with political ideology. The plan is one world government where u will own nothing and you'll be happy. Current politicians are just jostling for seats at the top wef table by selling out their countries. It's social engineering

because most other countries implement the same stupid policies: printing money and restrict construction. It is bound to happen. I remember an article from years ago about the situation in Berlin (Germany). A large housing project lasts there 10 years. 2 of those years is the actual construction, the preceding 8 years is bureaucracy. Eight fucking years! No wonder that only the largest corporations can afford to risk that amount of money for that long time, and no wonder they want to cash in on it balancing out that risk. It's insane.

I would say as well: save. I still live with my mother at the age of fifty seven. I wish I had saved more money when I was younger. I do it now. I am doing okay. But I wish I'd had a longer term goal such as a house back then. Although I do live in a part of Britain where house prices are astronomical and one bit is the fifth highest in the world. So I don't know if I'd have a chance anyway. But a bigger nest egg might have helped.

This. My generation was under no illusion that we’d be owning an average priced home while single in our early 20s. They touch on some real issues in the video but even when those issues didn’t exist, 20-something’s generally haven’t historically owned homes in any real numbers. Even married folks in that age group rented, lived with parents or shared a space with another couple until they saved enough and built their credit. I think it’s a result of the “everybody gets a trophy” generation.
