It’s so sweet to see how far Laika has come since the vlogs where they first got her. She’s such a good girl, and you can really tell how much Hayley and Alex have worked with her and loved her so well. 🥹

Omg that intro was adorable 🥺😂 You know, this year was the first, since the three-year-long 2020, that actually felt like it progressed at a somewhat normal speed. Up until now, every year has felt like trying to get the last teaspoon of honey out of a squeeze bottle. Very strange.

Seeing Mal play with Laika makes me wonder. Do you all still play Hide and Seek with Kepler “helping?” :P
@stephenvlog12 күн бұрын
I have a fun game I play with Kepler where we go around the kitchen island multiple times - he keeps trying to catch me but I've always made it to the other side. I also play hide and seek with Kepler, sometimes, since it's a real thrill to manage to hide from a cat. You basically have to hold your breath :X

Alright! We’re finally into December Vlogs! I can’t wait to see another Georg Family Christmas Vlog this year, unless they are heading out of town for the holidays.

4:44 For my money I choose Donkey Kong Country 2 in just about every category, but I do completely understand the sentiment that the first DKC just had a little something special about it that was lost in the sequel. The levels in the first game have this quiet "liminal space" feeling. It makes them feel like art pieces celebrating the beauty and stillness of nature, like paintings that you just happen to get to run and swing and jump in. The music, besides DK Island Swing and Fear Factory, is less melodic and more ambient than in the sequel. The levels in the second game feel much more like creative and fanciful video game levels that were made specifically for you to run and climb and swim through. The music does maintain ambient effects like blooping lava bubbles or chirping bugs, but is overall more melodic and more "pop" than in the first game. The levels feel more like action setpieces than landscapes. And I personally love that, I think it makes for a more fun video game, but I completely understand why somebody might prefer the vibes of the first game. There really genuinely aren't that many other games like it.

I've been hooked into watching the advance wars youtube content, apparently there's a whole fan made web client (advance wars by web) and some fun times of people commentating matches. idk if that'd be something that'd interest you but i've found it pretty neat, you can do versions where you wait days between doing moves or you can do live where each of you have a timer that runs down just seems pretty neat maybe worth checking out if you do still have some advance wars itch and wanna try your mettle against other people, even just slower games with friends could be neat.

AWBW has been around for a very long time, as I remember playing that with some online friends when I was in high school! Haven't touched it since then, though.

I definitely feel like AW1 was more focused on "commander vs commander" while AW2 was "commander vs enemy/environment". Yeah the Black Hole COs were commanders, but like you said - there's more non-player targets. And for a direct sequel it was a very good way to iterate while adding just that extra bit more. One thing I would've loved to see for 1+2 Reboot is for the AW2 CO Power/Superpower system to be used in AW1's content; that may have required some rebalancing, but I definitely think it would've been worth it.

I've actually been running a lot into that thing with Donkey Kong on KZbin. People are talking about how the game has an atmosphere that you don't really see in the other games. Like a sense of loneliness or a more natural feeling world. Maybe that's what you're thinking of? And its a shame that Advance War still has bugs that need to be fixed because it really felt like Nintendo was ready to move on from that game before it even was released.

Basically hitting on every point about the gane talk, but thaall of it is how I feel about the Borderlands series. 2 is definitely the best game and the one I'd say to play but there's something different about each mainline entry that pulls me back in (currently feeling thay about the original).Each entry will give the player 4-6 playthroughs with each character feeling so different from each other, not to mention the loot system/NG+ mode(s). The games have enough content, challenges, and/or strong vibes that just keep me hooked.

I found Advance Wars 2 impossible to play. While I was at least able to reach the final map in the first one, I could not get far at all in Advance Wars 2. It was way too hard for me.

For a while I hoped they'd put the DS Advance Wars on Switch, but the bugs make me nervous about that. Reboot just feels like they're not doing anything more, which sucks. Just hoping Warside is good...
