@@420dunk5 They removed it presumably as an effort to stop the minority of players that were purchasing MT through third party sites because they did not want to enable that extremely unimpactful loss. In turn, they have sold millions less copies than other years and MyTeam is almost entirely dead. How has it been the best decision business wise considering in a blatantly greed-fuelled, gameplay inconsiderate overhaul that attempted to cover a small loss they have resulted in an extraordinarily more extensive loss that in turn goes beyond simply a handful players evading micro-transactions, now becoming a loss of 1/3 of their player base? (2k24 Sales ~ 9 million, 2k20 sales ~14 million. Nearly a 33% decrease in copies sold.) Though the gradual downfall of neighbourhood/career contributed also, these numbers are undoubtedly heavily influenced by changes such as the new 'casino' format of MyTeam. The only tangible data I could find to quantify numbers of players who mainly play Career:MyTeam was a small and not entirely reliable survey that however showed results of about 60:40. Though lacking validity, it gives us a vague insight that would mean ~2 million players that primarily played MyTeam failed to purchase the game due to these changes. Think about how much money you have spent on packs each year, and multiply it by 2 million. Arguably one of the worst decisions business-wise by any video game publisher, ever.
