Hi, this is your biggest fan from the U.S. I think you are a very positive person. When you have a negative opinion I like it and I think your points are fair ❤ Also I have added tons of books you've recommended to my Christmas list. I had never heard of Adam Nevill before!! I get the feeling I have been deprived. Also added Rachel Harrison - I especially want to read her witchy book Cackle!

Firstly, this is such a kind and lovely comment, thank you :) I'm SO excited for you to read Adam Nevill! Which book do you think you might try first?

Mikey! So good to hear/see you again, buddy! I haven't seen the movie yet, and I still haven't seen Prometheus or Covenant. The bigger the budget, the less likely that I am going to overlook problems in a movie. Physics? We don't need no stinking physics. Fan sevice and callbacks take me out of the story. Unless done exceedingly well, it just feels like the filmmaker winking at the audience. Such a fun video. I want more rants! I mean questions!

I wonder what we'll question next....

As an Alien fan in my 40s I’d like to reassure you that I found those call-backs, and those bizarre call-forwards too, incredibly obnoxious. I mean, I was getting annoyed with all the post-Ripley Ripley clones that we’ve seen in all the films since Alien 3. Raine is the most obnoxious Ripley clone of all the Ripley clones even more so than the actual clones in Resurrection 😂 At least this time they didn’t go down to a planet and take their helmets off…
@happygoathorrorАй бұрын
WHY WOULD THEY TAKE THIER HELMETS OFF?!?!?!?!?!?! The references started to get infuriating after the first couple, they were ramming them down our throats so hard. This is always my other argument when people say "but you can't compare it to the original"...er, really? Because the film itself keeps smashing you in the face with reminders and bad references to the original, so how could you not think about the original?

I'll wait til it's free streaming somewhere 🤣

I wouldn't even bother then, to be honest

Oh as you are a Horror channel have you heard they trying to get Robert Englund back in to do more Nightmare on Elm Street. When is someone going to do something original in Hollywood aside from Nolan.
@happygoathorrorАй бұрын
Ooh I hadn't heard that! I guess the issue is that they're guaranteed to fill cinema seats with remakes and sequels and all that, but they make less money with the original stuff. Especially with horror, people don't seem to like new horror films for the most part for some reason.

I dont think anyone wants to spend money to see a film and go in not liking it before it starts, why would anyone waste their money purposefully going in to hate it that just doesn't makes no sense. To be honest these people ho spout these words to be honest just have no standards and will clap at anything for example a cheese on toast space ship with Xenomorphs on ive had the same in facebook groups. To be honest Romulus is just the greatest hits of the previous films edited together nothing original or gripping about it. The big question i had is similar to yours but to expand Weyland Yutani are desperate to create this Xenomorph so its obvious precious cargo, the face huggers and the original Big Chap Xenomorph this is obviously very important so why not send a salvage crew to recover this very precious cargo? i mean doing this would have made a more of a gripping storyline as Weyland Yutani would've done anything to retrieve the cargo but the kids want to kill the cargo so how far would the Weyland Yutani salvage crew go to recover the Xenomorphs and face huggers would the salvage crew kill there own kind to get there hands on the cargo for Weyland and yutani i feel that concept introduced wouldve up the stakes and made for a more gripping storyline.

Yeah every time I hate a film someone laughs at me and says I just wanted to hate it, but I really don't! ESPECIALLY if I pay to go to the cinema. Saying that, I do have an abnormally large amount of sheer hatred for the things I do really hate, and agree with people that I need to not take the last season of GOT so seriously, for example. But yeah, great films are worth their weight in gold!
@dubstepzsiАй бұрын
@@happygoathorror Yeah but you hate it so much because you wanted it to be so good but got severely disappointed. Oh and get this i heard today that Fede Alverez actually went to the director of the series Alien Earth to exchange ideas but was refused, that is just more evidence that this movie was made by someone that just took idea from other peoples perspective hence why Romulus was so so bad and fuels the fire Romulus was just a greatest scene hits of the first three films. There is one scene were they are walking through the corridor and there are two three Xenemoorphs crawling towards them slowly it was things like that that just dont work when there are just a few they need to be moving fast but when the scene in Aliens where they swarm in from the ceiling near the end that works with them swarming so slowly towards Ripley because there are so so many of them that it looks so terrifying you actually oh my god how are they going to get out of this but with the Romulus scene because there were only two or three it didn't work and i felt that dread that Aliens captured so well was completely missing in Romulus. I have serious trepidation about Alien Earth however the fact they are keeping the scenes very much out of the trailer and the director refused to share idea with Fede gives me a glimmer of hope it could actually be good as they seem to keeping there cards very tightly to there chest with project.

@@dubstepzsi Let me know if that show turns out to be any good! I probably won't bother otherwise...I've been burned by this franchise too many times lol! I guess my main complaint is that when new films are made in a franchise now, the thought process seems to be "do the same thing but make it bigger/do it more/add more of the same thing" and it's at the expense of the storytelling, tension, atmosphere, etc. They only had one bloody facehugger in Aliens and that scene was fantastic. They put like a thousand of them in Romulus - so many CGI creepy crawlies sprinting around that I just didn't care at all lol
@dubstepzsiАй бұрын
@@happygoathorror I shall let you know what the series is like I'm not holding my breath as it is Disney and i am not a fan of them especially after what they did to Doctor Who. Yeah i think they should have adopted the famous saying of less can be more there were just so many call backs and to many in my opinion. I think TopGun Maverick is a perfect example of how you do a sequel and pay homage to the original.
@happygoathorrorАй бұрын
@ oh I haven’t seen Top Gun Maverick yet! I think the Evil Dead remake did a decent job of paying homage to the originals too
