Really enjoyable and thanks for sharing. I've mainly gem fossicked around the New England but would like to take a holiday to tibooburra and do some dry panning and crevicing around some of the gullies as I don't own a detector. Just wondering if you are able to recommend which direction from tibooburra would be good for gravely/ crevice/ gully fossicking similar to your blow tubing country. Of course I don't expect you to give away your own locations but any advice greatly appreciated. Really enjoyed your grabben gullen videos as well. Thanks so much.

Neil St Leon thanks for watching Neil......I’d be looking at the area between the Easter Monday diggings and the Nuggety gully region to the west of it.....it’s only a short run down the road to Cameron’s corner and the creeks there have quite a lot of blow tube sized gold in them. Good luck.

Nice find, good luck to both of you. My back is probably much like yours Walt, I made my pick with a long handle from a shovel about $10. US, it doubles as a hiking stick, Southern Arizona gold fields require a lot of walking up and down steep canyons, I use it as a anchor to help pull me up. (very little bending in this old guy)

Thanks Wayne....out in the desert country when we find an area giving up a reasonable amount of gold we drag a short piece of chain behind us which leaves a very distinguishing line on the surface and we detect in a grid pattern between the chain lines.This way we cover every inch of ground with the coil and tend to not miss any of the gold to be had.

Hey Wal and Liz thanks for the channel, a question please, I'm based in Tasmania, myself and one of my sniping partners would like to do a detecting trip to Tibooburra this winter. We are both running water proof VLF's which are fine in Tasmania as we mostly snipe. I have a Equinox 800 which can disc. hot rocks and deals with mineralized ground pretty well. My partner however has a Nokta gold kruzer, with it's high khz and no notch disc. struggles in highly mineralized ground. I have suggested he use my spare an Xterra 705 if the Nokta is not coping, he is not convinced about the Xterra or the location. I have told him that VLF's are usable in Tibooburra, what are your comments, have you seen people with experience in using a VLF, coping with the mineralization in Tibooburra. Thanks

Serbrest1 .....thanks for watching, November to February is summer and can be extremely hot in the area this vid was made. Certainly would not recommend detecting here in those months. Areas along the east coast that produce gold are a far better option during the summer months.

I plan to come (if give a visa) to Western Australia as a tourist and try to look for nuggets using a metal detector. But it will turn out at best in the summer months (for us it is winter, we have up to -30 ).
