There Their and They're Homophones

I haven't messed up a "there, their, they're" in over 25 years. I could read and write at at a grade 12 level when I was in 6th grade, so was gifted with good grammar. My mother was an English teacher and tutored people with learning disabilities as a side job, while also helping me with homework, so that helped a lot as well. It still baffles me seeing grown adults (family, friends and random people in the comment sections) that can't figure that out. For example: " I went over to "they're" house and got to ride one of "there" dirt-bikes', we rode to the end of the trail and when we got "their", The dirt-bike I was riding broke down", etc. Drives me bloody crazy every time, it's not hard to figure out...

they're is a contraction of they are. When you see it written like that, change it in your head to two words: they are. Then say the sentence again. In this case, "We are going to they are house." Does that sound correct? No. This is a good trick for getting the use of they're right. Hope that helps.

Milk is uncountable so you can't put a number in front of it. You could say, "There is one glass of milk." :)
