Maybe it's because this was my first Assassin's Creed, but I never hated this game. Even after going back and replaying the original and the Ezio trilogy, I've always felt this game stood out amongst the franchise in terms of its edge. Connor stalking his prey up in the trees of the frontier will never get old, and I could listen to Connor and Haythams debate on the rooftop all day long haha

Assassin's Creed III was actually my first AC game, I'll never stop liking it actually. Also seeing how Desmond's story ended just made me want to play all the previous games as well to see his whole story. However because of my outdated PC, I only played up to Origins but I'll definitely play the rest once I upgrade.

Imagine ever hating a game that has you play as a Native American who is being told by the British, Revolutionaries, Assassins, and Templars that they can help keep your people safe, knowing the entire time, as the player, that none of them give a damn and turn back on that promise in a heartbeat as soon as they use the Native for their own goals. I played this game for the first time around 2020, and the thing I hated most is whatever the hell they did to Desmond's face.

The problem with Connor was that everyone just played through 3 games with Ezio, any character would have a had time here, it's just unfortunate that it was Connor. It also didn't help how we had Haytham at the start. But personally I liked Connor and AC3 when I played it. Although I wasn't too keen on the more open Wilderness, I missed all the parkour from previous games which really we wouldn't get again on such a large scale until Unity. The only assassin I really don't like is Arno and found Unity the weakest game (story wise).

Still my favorite ac game besides unity. Mainly because of the addition of new weapons (love the rope dart and bow) and the improvement to parkour while also being a man with the strength of a bear. As soon as I laid my eyes upon Connor absolutely destroying the redcoats in that e3 reveal trailer he was automatically my favorite assassin. It really sucks that we could've had unity 2 with an older matured Connor teaching arno how to be a better assassin and helping him hunt down his father's killer, shay Patrick Cormac. It would've been AMAZING to have both assassin's be in the same city doing different things at the same time, kind of like GTA where you switch between characters and they're all doing their own thing. Kind of like the new system spiderman 2 has where you can swap to either Spidey and you can see Peter doing crunches or Miles gliding through the air, except something Connor would be doing is shooting someone from a rooftop and then the gameplay starts. Oh what could have been...

I love the fort missions. Wish they had the continental army help you attack it like they go the front gate and you sneak in to help, like in black flag. I still love this game I think it needs a proper remake instead of that remaster
@longjohn526
@longjohn526 9 ай бұрын
It's the side content like these fort take downs where you could more easily improvise compared to the main missions a lot of which were "Fail again and again until you memorize the path" type designs where improvisation meant you either fail the quest or at least fail the optional objectives. Other good side content was the ships and the building your settlement side quests ...... Black Flag is much the same way, all the land based main quests are pretty lame and boring compared to the side contents like ship contracts, Assassin contracts and the Templar Hunt side content. Again fort takedowns while entirely different and ship based were more satisfying than the main quest content. What I like best about Origins onward is the freedom to improvise nearly every mission .... You could go full stealth and assassination, run around with a bow and just pick everyone off one by one or just go Full Hulk and go in and hack and slash your way through everyone .....

I've played every AC (except Odyssey and Valhalla, which isn't AC to me). And AC3, while I don't hate it, was disappointing; since it was one of the last ones I played and many said that it was the best AC or the best in the Kenway Saga, when I played it I only to realize that it is actually one of the worst in the Kenway saga, Not so much for the story, since it is good, but for the gameplay; I don't know if you have mods or something, or that it was a bug, but when doing aerial assassinations or killing someone with the bow it alerted all the enemies without even being in the field of vision, or too close to enemies to be heard. Also in the case of the viewpoints, which were somewhat useless as they didn't fully reveal the map once they were all synced. So, I didn't hate it, but also it wasn't one of my favourites.

The detection system in the original AC 3 was broken and thankfully was fixed in Remaster. These forts were a thing of luck and some weird glitches when some guard on the opporite side of the fort would notice you through three walls. Other than that I always loved Connor and this game.

Y'know in the potentially hundreds of hours I played this when younger I not once had an issue with the detection system. Not once had an issue with forts tbh except on the PC edition years later. Won't lie though I miss the glitch spots in new york and Boston where enemies spawned infinitely

I know Ezio will always be the preferred by the fandom but Connor got me. I dont care what others think. The stoicism of Connor and his will to fight against all odds make him look the most admirable assassin for me. He literally revived the Brotherhood in the Americas on his own. Well, with Achilles guiding. He lost everything and everyone he had, and still kept fighting for what he though was right. Thats probably the most sincere example of the Creed philosophy

I remember seeing the trailers over and over, the smosh music video. And when i got my hands on it i played that game on my 360 a lot. Connor was and still is one of my favorite characters in the AC franchise, and the secondary missions were really fun to do as well. The relation Connor had with Haytham and Achilles really got me going. Also i LOVED the tomahawk's design too. Good times.

Honestly I never understood how sometimes the gaming community can be so harsh on a game that is objectively one of the best in the series. The way it makes you doubt the assassins, the characters, the story… tbh the only thing that left me a bit unsatisfied is Desmond’s death, as I wished the series would’ve continued with him as the present day protagonist, but other than that it’s an amazing game for me

Assassin's Creed III was actually the first assassin's Creed I ever played, though I remember assassin's Creed being popular back then, ezio's cover art being all over the place, but at the time this game truly felt like an open world game and it took me almost a month to finish it but the way the characters we're out, the pacing of the story everything about it held true to an assassins creed game and to this day this is still in my top 3 assassin's Creed games.

I always liked this game a lot, even if i played it only recently. I know ac since the first game, but this acIII always amazed me by his animations, the more cinematic movements, the tools like rope dart are wild and badass. Just the fact we play as an american indian is awesome, it really makes me feel the freedom, the close to nature parkour, and as a great hunter, connor is for me a perfect assassin. Well this game is very special in my heart : the snow, the parkour, tomahawk and rotative blade fights, his outfit is one of my fav if not my all fav. It's the first ac game where you can vault over obstacles and there's a great amount of animations too

The title sums up the entire ac series. Everyone hated 3 and black flag on release. Unity because it needed bug fixes and now is considered one of the good ones. Syndicate because people didn't like unity. Odyssey because it has no assassins even tho it goes deep into the lore which goes beyond assassins and templars. Valhalla is fine, I just don't like it because there's no new game plus or replay option.

I am new to these games, and all I see is a high quality series. The discourse among fans over the years is frankly depressing. Every game is picked apart and filtered through subjective lenses of "nostalgia", even though the games are not 10 years old. You kids should be happy with the wealth of quality there is throughout

Happy to report to ya that I absolutely adored this game ever since it was released. It had its flaws, but I loved every bit of it. Honestly, to this very day, I wish Ubisoft simply took the ideas from III's brutal combat and integrated it into Unity's focus on stealth and technical challenge. An AC game with all that minus the jank and broken state at launch... that'd be glorious, especially if they could finally find better writers when it comes to the modern-day story. I wouldn't mind a modern campaign that actually has combat and stealth, again. Maybe even have certain mechanics from third person shooters to compensate with the future setting. I'm just spitballing since I'm pretty sure modern Ubisoft won't be taking that kind of risk anymore. I still have some hope tho since Mirage is headed into the right direction... sadly, just feels like it might be too late.

I like the game but it has its flaws. Ubisoft may have used the new engine for this game, but they removed many features which made the old games awesome. Take side content for example. In older games, we got assassination contracts, courtesan's quests, thieves' quest, Templar agents, delivery requests, collectibles and many others. And they were awesome. But here, except the naval and homestead quests, every other side quests were worse. Literally. And also the detection system of old ACs were better than this one(thank god they made it better in AC4) But the best thing about this game is its narrative. I can say, that the story of connor and haytham is something I will miss in this franchise. I liked how ubi tried to show both sides. I know people hate connor, either due to their personal reasons or due to some "self-proclaimed AC fans" who diss this game for no reason. But he is a good protagonist. He is an optimist who believes that the world can become a better place, he believes in hope. But now ubisoft just gives people Ezio Rip-offs and totally forgot the narrative they had in AC1,3 and rogue.
