Okay so IMMEDIATELY I was sucked into this talk on multivitamins because I actually spent the better part of the last two months working on a project for a nutraceutical (entirely theoretical and as a graduation project, I might add, but we had to do a fair amount of research on the product in order to design a plant around it basically) and a couple of things immediately leapt out at me. (TL;DR: A catchy correlation without full context is totally useless and generally badly represented click-bait) 1) There's a correlation given by Trevor's summary, yes. But no causation. Is the death directly linked to the taking of vitamins or indirectly linked, say, by a person thinking that multivitamins have them covered so they just have a shit diet outside of that. Because the link doesn't imply how the link WORKS. It's important to balance your diet around multivitamins, which are meant as supplements only and are understood this way. By "article" I assume Trevor means NEWS article, which are famous for over simplifying or misrepresenting studies for clicks - so if there's a way to read the whole SCIENTIFIC article I'd be interested to have a look at it 2) Multivitamin efficacy is a pretty big deal and is EXCEPTIONALLY complicated. There's this concept of bioavailability which can be affected by the compounds the vitamin/nutrient is delivered in (for example lycopene - which is in tomatoes and what I was researching - has been seen to show greater bioavailability as certain isomers and in the presence of lipids, so eating an oil-filled capsule containing lycopene could theoretically be better than a dry-pressed capsule of lycopene). 3) There's also a LOT of vitamins that will poison you if you take too much of them. Multivitamins don't always deliver 100% of your GDA because of this - if you eat something containing vitamin A every day and also take a pill with 100% of your vitamin A GDA you WILL GET SICK. It'd be interesting to know how things like this factor into the study too.
@merchantarthurn6 жыл бұрын
Also further context required is: were any preexisting health conditions present in those studied? Were they taking multivitamins for a particular reason? Had they had previous deficiencies in the past? What was their exercise regime like (alongside diet, uh, complacency is a thing for BOTH of these factors)? Did they go for regular check ups? etc etc. Like as someone who has had medically prescribed vitamins in the past... they only started working when I fixed everything else around it. So if half the people who were worse off and taking vitamins just ate pizza for dinner and didn't leave the house and never went to the doctor because vitamins are Cure Alls then yeah!! Duh!! And this was nearly touched on by that biologist loon acting as though vitC was a miracle cure and these guys didn't make the link sdlfkdgj

The reason I watch ah isn't because you play the games normally but because yall used to be creative with how you played them. Minecraft being the best example, I can't play that game for more than 20 min without getting bored but y'all use it as a way to create different games within. Same with gta except that its also got community supported creativity. This is why I get bored with pubg/fortnite/call of duty. Y'all try to actually play the game which isn't your fault because the game doesn't give you any creative wiggle room but they are much more bland.

I Alfredo wants that kind of grind, he should try Warframe. It's not very intuitive to get into but once you catch onto what is needed to do, you can have a really great game where you can keep continuously grinding towards new objectives that are added regularly as the developers, DE keep adding content all the time.
@ritsukaseriyko14916 жыл бұрын
A big meh.
@Ninosai6 жыл бұрын
Not for contents for the channel. I wouldn't want to see the AH crew playing warframe again on video, I love the game too much for that. But if he wants a grind with specific goals he can set himself, as a free to play game, Warframe is a pretty good one.
@darrianweathington19236 жыл бұрын
Ninosai yeah but the beginning sucks unless you have somebody to carry you. Like i have like 8 hours and im still in the beginning and im board as all hell. But ive seen streams of what happens after the beginning stuff looks cool
@Ninosai6 жыл бұрын
@Darrian Weathington: I do agree that guidance and some help for particularly tough missions and situations that require teams to do them more easily. (like interceptions and defense missions) But being carried through too much of the beginning, as I've experienced with friends I personally helped, could make a player feel as if they are not getting a really good experience either. Honestly, if Alredo were to stream himself starting the game, and let people know, he would most likely find a lot of people to help him and give him a lot of advice he could apply in game. The Warframe community loves to support big personalities trying out the game. Though, it also tends to devolve into people gifting way too much on stream, lol.

Gotta say as an AirPods user (looks aside although I personally don’t mind the design), I really rate them. Charge lasts few hours and they are really quick to charge back up in the case (10 mins ish), and never fall out my ears. Think a lot of people knock them without ever trying them

Just in case anyone from AH reads these comments, I'll leave this in regards to Fortnite. Everybody is playing it on youtube and watching the game gets stale after a while especially with its quick pacing. One of the things that makes PUBG fun to watch is the tension that builds throughout the video. That usually leads to an exciting ending, whereas Fortnite has less tension and less satisfying ends unless somebody is trying to do something cool. For AH, I feel like PUBG fits your style better than Fortnite does, but Fortnite fits well enough on streams to not give up on it completely. In the end, play whatever you have fun with because those are the best videos. Just my 2 cents.
@ritsukaseriyko14916 жыл бұрын
Here's my 2 cents and First sub; It's fine. Both are content regardless. If you hate the game, that is your problem. Why give it shot? Because it's AH playing the game. Weighing your opinion on one reason isn't enough if the reason has nothing bad to become of it.
@catbuster1016 жыл бұрын
Definitely agree with this. For me personally, Fortnite is difficult to watch a video of because of the pace. Honestly, I think that Fortnite and PUBG are very different games even though they're both battle royale and it seems like the Fortnite audience tends to skew younger, I think the majority of the AH audience isn't so much the direct audience for that game. But in the end I agree with you, they should really just play what they have the most fun with, the videos are always better when they enjoy themselves.

When it comes to multivitamins, they aren't a cure all but, they do work if you need them. For example I have malabsorption issues because of surgery, which means I don't get what I need from what I eat so, I have to take a multivitamin ( also vitamin d, b12, and calcium ) otherwise I risk suffering the effects of malnutrition. I could eat the very best food there is and would still need to have the vitamins.

I think Fortnite makes for a bad stream game because you guys do look like you are only playing it for its popularity and not because you enjoy it. I'd say if you were to play it at all to try and keep it as an edited video instead. That way there isn't 40 minutes of a hour and a half stream where nothing funny or notable happens.

vitamins are fairly important, but the key thing about them is that there's no extra benefit after you take what you need. You won't get scurvy if you get vitamin C, but it won't prevent a cold. Some people purposefully overdose on vitamins, which has negative health complications. It's one of the things the Church of Scientology does.

Viscera Cleanup was a great video. Michael's mess up was one of my better laughs. Sea of Thieves videos are very enjoyable because it's usually just goofing about, michael shanties and small bits like that are probably why it's good. PUBG/Fortnite is good for streams, I think a problem it has with rewatchability is the long distance action. Lightning Rounds and Rainbow Six are more enjoyable to watch because it's easier to tell what's going on. (This is also probably why Fortnite is getting more popular because of its unique visuals.)
