This episode starts to show how Genos is always paying attention to Saitama and trying to emulate him without specifically pointing it out. Last episode, Saitama told Genos to summarize his story in 20 words or less and used 'Consecutive Normal Punches'; this episode, Genos told the ape cyborg to use 20 words or less and hit Carnage Kabuto with 'Machine Gun Blows', which is basically just 'Consecutive Normal Punches' with a cooler name.

People always miss the point behind the training. It wasn't the amount it the difficulty of the training that made him strong. It was the fact that he kept doing it despite his body falling apart and despite the pain. It was his tenacity to push through the limits of his body that unlocked his limits. He "broke" his "limiter".

Fun fact: Saitama training program is actually impossible to make, as there was some Olympics coaches and others who have said that if you followed this program to the point, in 3 weeks, a month or maybe more. You would actually die out of exhaustion and dying with body sutting down. So Saitama is just incredible that he survived that. Also if you think about it is intense training program. 100 pushups. 100 situps. 100 squats. and finally the most crazy one, to run 10km(6,2 miles for you Americans;) ). It's no problem if you do this ones, will probably just be really exhausted and body hurting the next day, The problem do this every single day for months or years without break any break. Hell when I do like only 1-2 hours gym pass one day and it will hurt and exhaust my body for like 1-2 days.

You have to think of Saitama not as a character but as more of a elemental force or a cosmic background. Other side-characters are the true 'heroes' of this show.
@richardohanlon30363 жыл бұрын
We're so used to stories in which the main character undergoes change by coming into contact with and learning from members of the supporting cast but some of the best stories ever told do the opposite, releasing an unchanging, immovable rock of a person onto a world of side characters who all change and grow as a result of meeting them. Really great to see done well, huh.

Lol Saitama is a true hero i know what you're getting at but could of phrased it differently.
@causticgrip83293 жыл бұрын
@@Junior2000625 I think that the reason why Saitama feels so hollow and dead inside is because his "heroism" has taken a backseat in his life as he grew stronger. A hero is someone who knows they're gonna die, not just someone who takes risks. Not every soldier who goes to a war is a hero, but every soldier who uses their body to protect others from a grenade is a hero. Now this is my definition of heroism--and you can disagree with it. By that definition I only see a couple of real heroes in the show. Mumen Rider being #1. Saitama is just a God-level super entity. Heroism doesn't really come into play for him; just mild curiosity. But if you're talking about a 'narrative hero', then sure, he's the protagonist.
@jlinkous053 жыл бұрын
@@Junior2000625 The story isn't about Saitama, it's about everyone else. *Spoiler* The only thing we're waiting on in the anime regarding Saitama is a description on how he somehow broke the normal power limit when it takes everybody else willingly becoming a monster to have a chance at it. Without a power limit, every bit of his full training was just as effective as the first bits instead of slowing and plateauing over time. Imagine if you could just keep doing pushups until your arms were bigger than a beach ball and then you could do more pushups and your arms just kept getting bigger

The real source of Saitama's power is that he exceeded his "limiter", so to speak. By doing his workout regimen EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. for THREE YEARS, as well as the psychological training of not using heat or A/C, he pushed himself mentally to where most people would feel at their "breaking point"...and then he continued on, he moved past it. Now in his own mind he has no limits. Have you ever tried something requiring physical skill or prowess and failed, painfully? And then someone else goes and tries it without thinking twice and succeeds? Imagine how you would conduct your life, how you would behave when faced with challenges or seemingly impossible odds, if you actually fully and truly believed that no matter what you were faced with you could surpass that challenge, and do so easily. Also: I'm confident in asserting that IF someone, anyone, were to do 100 pushups, 100 squats, 100 crunches, and a 10 km run every single day without fail for 1,095 days that they would be quite the physical specimen.
