4months late reply lol. But this gentleman struck me as someone who probably takes a lot of pride in himself and his household. So it would probably hurt a bit being unable to do it due to his health issues. And I think it is the same for many middle aged and older people who's health are slowing them down. They want to do the work so badly, but realize they need to not overwork themselves and hire someone/ask for help. And so when help is offered they would like to assist. I Used to work for a voulenteer organization that does in-home tasks for people battling cancer, or recovering from it. And it would often be washing the floors and windows, some yard work, getting rid of trash that have buildt up etc etc. The people we helped where often very sick, but would almost always either try to help, or try to feed us baked goods hehe. Even if it was a free/volounteer service.

Matthew 6:1-4 New Living Translation 1 “Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven. 2 When you give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do-blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get. 3 But when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. 4 Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.

7:00 I believe what he said or is trying to say is "Once I've gotten everything down (the lawn) I'll keep it down it's just been my health." I'd imagine he's slightly embarrassed about not being able to keep the lawn in shape due to poor health. Thanks for helping this elder out 👍🏻
