thats lovely that you let your Sheila ride on the bike of the bike, and that the little lady noticed the difference on the rear sets

Great Video. Another reason I fit them is due to the improved quality vs. Oem in that they have less free-play which means less effort put in to gear changes when the connection is more direct. In oem the bearings are brass bushes which where whereas quality after market have ball/needle bearing what are smoother/tighter

Good points mate, I never thought of that to be honest.

Thanks for that I got a set of M package rear sets, and replaced the original ones, the problem is I don’t know where exactly put them as I don’t feel locked on the bike, but my other problem is I have RA and it’s in my hips so I can’t have to high as I’d never get my feet on the pegs
@TheBikeStig2 жыл бұрын
its a bit of trial and error, truth is most people try to go too high when the goal is actually to position the feet so you can lock on properly.
@treestone27242 жыл бұрын
great suggestion to not start high and back.....that's how my new pegs are set and it's much less comfortable that OEM on my gsxr750....so, I'll move them forward and see if that helps connect to the tank - thanks

Another great video 🙏🏻 I have a set of BMW rear sets for my s1000R. I’ve been delaying fitting for a while. Mostly because I’m over 6 foot and I wasn’t sure how much this would compromise comfort. But I would love to have better grip on the bike so 😬 tough. Any difference for you with comfort after the upgrade?
@TheBikeStig2 жыл бұрын
I think the problem with any rear set is they tend to be further back and higher, so comfort is always going to be compromised to some degree. I'd probably stick with standard if I was a taller guy I think. We run standard foot pegs on the Superbike school coach bikes, with the only real upgrade being a better and more gripier foot peg. That might be a good option for you rather than a full rear set change.

@@TheBikeStig understood. That was the worry. Good to get a heads up on it. Can I be cheeky and ask what grippy pegs you rate for standard set up? Appreciate you taking the time to reply mate. Always a great source of info 🙏🏻

@@Invis_Space not a problem mate, the school uses the Giles Tooling version especially made for the school - you can find them on the web, this is the Aussie web site - bike-shop.com.au/products/gilles-rgk-560-uf23-set - and this one is in the states I believe - www.pureperformancecycles.com/gilles-tooling-california-superbike-school-foot-pegs-2018-2021-bmw-f850-gs.html

Your view of the California Superbike replacement pegs produced by Gilies tooling? Seem to be a nice compromise between a complete rear set and the OEM pegs (that on 45000km s1000r) that have lost some of their grip.
@TheBikeStig3 жыл бұрын
I agree with these being a good compromise Brian, I've spoken to a few guys who've ridden with them and they speak highly of the grip. I haven't ridden on them myself but they tell me the grip surface performs like the BMW HP versions. I did fit a high grip replacement on my GS front and rear and was super impressed. So if I didn't have the HP rear sets on the S1RR, I'd definitely replace the OEMs with these.

Steve here from bundy Qld 😀 Im thinking of getting the Braaap Cruiser 400 bike , What do think of the quality of the bike ? Also ive heard & read some bad stuff about company some years ago ? im new to riding & im not sure if this Braaap Cruiser 400 is any good , can you please advise me ! I like your videos & I can see you know plenty about motorcycles & riding 😝👍🏍

Hey Steve, yep I bought a Braaap MX450, I like it and have not had any issues at all. Personally I think they are pretty good value for money but they are what they are. I also have a Moto 4 in the shed and the finish on that is very surprising. I have met the owner and talked to him, and more than happy to say they try super hard and are ethical what they do, that's my opinion. They get stuffed around a bit with the manufacturing which is kind of out of their hands and people end up complaining. I recorded a podcast recently with the owner, maybe have a listen to it. It's The Moto Edition Podcast on Spotify and other places as well.

Great video! My bike is near identical to yours. I just took it to my local track for the first time and did not feel very comfortable as i had done on all my previous bikes. Im putting it down to the rear set position so will definetly play with the positon setting this weekend. I also really struggled with the roadshift so will change this to GP shift. Do you know why there are 2 threaded holes per pattern when changine. What is the effect of using one over the other? Thanks in advance
@TheBikeStig2 жыл бұрын
my understanding about the threaded holes is they change leverage and the amount of movement required to change gears, why we would change I don't know. I use the holes closer to the pivot point and like the feel of it there in GP format. Yeah those rear sets can be set up too much to the rear and high, try the different extremes of set up to see which one is closer to your preference. Have fu.n

I have difficulty placing the tip of my foot even when pulling everything back and up, maybe due to my height, I am 1.85 meters/6.1ft. Any advice?
@TheBikeStig2 жыл бұрын
Hard to comment as I have never experienced height like that :-) ... actually, without seeing what it all looks like and what your bike is, try forward and down and see how much difference that makes, try the extremes just so you get a sense of what is better placement for a person your height. Hope that helps
