Jeannie said something really important don’t let that go over your head just because you have a lot of sex doesn’t mean your (connected or happy)

Bingo! Fun fact people have sex for different reasons in or out of marriage. Some reasons are: Pleasure, comfort, grief, anger, fear. Validation.(ego/self esteem boost) to avoid Depression, addiction, boredom, avoidance, abuse, to apologize, to communicate the list goes on...the reasons for lots of sex are not always healthy even in a marriage...
@asdfghjkl-oo7lv4 жыл бұрын
Yup there could be countless of reasons people might not have sex like low libido, genital mutilation (very sad and it's in some cultures), sexual trauma and even medical conditions can prevent couples from having it. I never judge a couple because of how little or how much sex they have. If it works for them. Good on them.

I am not saying one partner owes sex to the other, but I don't see the point of staying in a sexless romantic relationship.

A P what you saying here is completely normal. It’s sad, but it’s normal. This is monogamy’s massive flaw - that cannot go unnoticed. Responsible @3girlsinlove polygyny (Instagram) solves this problem perfectly. This is the future
@cleopatrawf4 жыл бұрын
It's a sad reality and often happens as the yrs go on as couples don't work at spending quality time together. Emotional intimacy at other times other than just on the bed is a very important ingredient that when is lacking causes many women to go off sex. And of course the biggest passion killer for women is kids. Can affect hormones and causes exhaustion to creep in. But from talking to women over the past 20yrs and in my own experience the biggest passion killer is resentment. Most women work 2 jobs. When they both come from work in many households still in this day and age a women is still working in the home until late whilst he relaxes until bed. It's easy to fix. Share the chores and kids so that she also gets a rest. She will have more energy and will appreciated u and want to have more sex. Women also have to voice their concerns too and recognise that sex is as important to a man as emotional intimacy is to a woman. Both sides need to communicate on this to keep things alive.
@WomenofHighValue4 жыл бұрын
Cleo Will monogamy was not designed to work very well. Men are not designed to share household chores, although this is what I have done the last 7-8 years of our 10 year long marriage. I was designed to crush it in business and out in the world - and be rewarded when I come home, so that she doesn’t have to work. But it doesn’t work like that. Monogamy makes people unhappy and desperate - and causes cheating and annoyances on a continual basis. You can never have 10/10 consistent happiness in this form of relationship. However, are there any other kinds of relationships that work, and that does not cause societal negative repercussions? I say @3girlsinlove responsible polygyny is making its way to the forefront. This is three women with one man. They love each other, and they love their man - together! They share the household chores you mentioned, they take care of each other and the little things, so the man don’t have to. They are mothers to their own and each other’s kids, so no kids are ever neglected - and in fact they can be homeschooled. And as long as the man can crush it in the marketplace, there is no need for them to work outside the home. They can instead laugh, play and giggle instead. These things mentioned below are however critical to making it work: it’s the man taking the blame for EVERYTHING (meaning he also has a strong financial foundation), there is NO more than one child per woman per 8 years (family planning) and the women are intimate with each other (this comes naturally when they are unburdened and feminine). Learn more on my channel
@cleopatrawf4 жыл бұрын
@@WomenofHighValue that's interesting what u say as I could say the same. That I was designed to be at home and look after children. Having spent 6 yrs doing that and the rest of the time building a successful career I see the value in being at home and the difference between my older grown up kids who had me at home and my older teen who didn't. Unfortunately in this day and age most people cannot afford a household where only the man works. And certainly most men cannot afford to support several wives. At the end of the day society has evolved and women have more choices and can stay at home or work as the case may be. I have several male friends from Nigeria and Gambia who are the product of traditional polygomous relationships. And their stories are similar. Yes in some ways it is good to have the company of lots of kids and different mothers. However they all lacked attention from their father, even those whose fathers were financially well off. They all say the competition between the wives was fierce spilling over to favouritism with the children. And for the ones who grew up poorer there simply wasn't enough food to go around. And all of them talked about the harsh treatment of their mothers at the hands of their fathers and/or the favourite wife. Violence and control was rife and not one of them talked about their mothers ever being happy. I've heard this story from at least 6 people. And I've also heard men of these relationships saying that their dad's were always stressed trying to please all their wives and so would never want that level of stress themselves, financially and emotionally. In some societies it has its place if its equitable and loving. But when it's forced on people out of tradition. It is a very big problem. This way of life in my opinion is regression not progression. I know men like my dad and some of his friends who are happily married and manage to b monogamous. Although I'm not naive enough to think it's not a struggle for some men - my ex husband certainly couldn't do it. He used to talk about having another wife all the time. I told him he should have married an Angolan woman if he wanted that. So many of his friends did it too and I can tell u for those women it was soul destroying. And the poor mother in laws who then have grand kids played off against her in case she shows favouritism or if one wife is not good with the husband. Its so complicated and filled with hurt, I'm yet to see any successful examples after over 20yrs living in the African community. Society has moved on and most women don't want to share. Men wouldn't want to share their woman although I have seen tribes where women can have more than one husband like the man. But in modern society it doesn't work as women now want choices to have a career, which is only right and fair. And also going back to the original question in this video. How is the woman supposed to be sexually satisfied if she has to share him with other women and wait her turn. Some men struggle to satisfy one woman let alone many.. But then in traditional societies its all about his satisfaction anyway so it wouldn't have even come into it as she didn't have a choice about sex. I think u r going to find it hard to convince women to give up what they have for polygomous relationships. Especially as there isn't an imbalance of men and women as there used to b in many of these societies where polygomy developed. It had its value back then and in many cases this way of life supported survival in harsh circumstances and large family units could support each other better. But now.. No I'm not giving up my freedom and choices for that. I experienced high levels of control when married for over 20 yrs. Ur methods take away choices - some women enjoy having a career, not everyone likes the intimacy of another woman and to be limited by how many children they have. Have experienced having my fertility controlled and its not nice and desires for children change as yrs go on despite agreements that are made. And not all men want to take on all the financial burdens and like having a woman who can contribute to the household. But anyway it's good to hear u help round the Hse tho.. Other men need to do the same.
@WomenofHighValue4 жыл бұрын
Cleo Will thank you for a long and thoughtful response. There are reasons for why those polygynous relationships failed where you have seen them. Did the man take the blame for everything going on in the household? Did the women live under the same roof, and were intimate with each other so as to provide true unity? Did the men start these types of relations when they were already well off, instead of before? Did the men limit the number of wives to the correct number of 3? Did they limit the amount of children to one child per woman every 8 years, and no more? These are the most essential things, and are based on the emotional needs of feminine women. Women might want careers, but the world is changing. We are entering uncertain times, and women will desire strength in numbers and a rich polygynous man - over their own freedom and careers. Eventually the truth will set us free. Responsible polygyny done right is the future. It’s ok if we disagree :)

I think Adrienne tries too hard when it comes to sex, and the persona of her being ‘sexy’. She admitted in one episode that she’s wearing herself out trying to have sex everyday. It’s almost as if she doesn’t have sex simply for the purity of it but she does it as part of a task. Like it’s something she has to do in order to maintain her marriage. That’s actually a very twisted mindset and it’s not healthy at all. Sex is not everything in a marriage, it’s an important factor but its not the main factor. Now that it’s starting to take a toll on her like she admitted it last time, I think she should really re-evaluate her priorities and not be so adamant on what she thinks is right otherwise life is going to give her a hard wake up call

@charlotte67174 жыл бұрын
Alyssa Bachas yeah if you watch her KZbin channel she also said that was part of the problem. She wasn’t trusting God to give her a baby but she was trying to hard to get it herself. She wanted to control Gods narrative over her life. It all plays into sex, that’s my point. Her mentality concerning sex is not healthy at all. She tries too hard and it wears her out and it’s going to keep wearing her out if she doesn’t change her mentality

Thanks Jeannie for giving the most mature and realistic opinion on this matter. Sex and intimacy can have two completely different meanings to different people. You can have sex all day but a weak spiritual, mental and emotional connection to each other. A great example is the difference between a physical affair which is purely just a sexual connection and an emotional affair that includes no sexual interaction but a mental and emotional connection. Once again Jeannie’s point of view was mature, honest and much appreciated.

They can last and certainly be as happy and fulfilled as those who have sex every day, but from the sexless marriages I’ve seen and spoken to (that are not asexual or etc) they don’t share “in love” feelings but rather “caring for one another” as companions which isn’t bad either! I think both sides are natural, it’s dependent on the person.

As a Married woman realistically after about 5-10 years and with children sex everyday or even 4 times a week wont always be possible and there will be weeks you will go without sex esp if both partners work and are tired. Intimacy however is very important to maintain as often as possible which could be cuddling, quality time, deep kisses, touching, sending love text, talking about sexual things, date nights etc. keeping the flame alive is key and for those who grow old and decide to become sexless thats ok because at 70 and 80 being best friends is the goal!

I agree with Jeannie having sex every day doesn't necessarily mean you're intimate with your partner. I am not saying anything against Adrienne's marriage but I believe that intimacy isn't just sex. If she works every day or 5 days a week and spends all the time she is at home having sex, when does she actually talk to her husband and experience things with him which are not sex related or, as Jeannie calls it, when do they nurture their souls?

Again everyone has different experiences. So there isn’t a need to voice your own without downing people who feel or experience the opposite or different.

A sexless marriage can last!! I am 💯 proof of that. I have been married 10 years in March. In the beginning we had lots of sex...fast foward to 7 years later. Sex life stopped to maybe 2-3 times a year because life happens (medical and everyday life stresses). 3 years of only having sex maybe 3 times a year didnt change our marriage. The close bond did change. But me and my husband still love each other just as much as we did when we first got married. We still have those butterflies, No cheating from both sides. We travel, have fun enjoying life, seeing cool places. I have learned that sometimes sex isnt a given in a marriage unfortunately but to us, we have to be ok with it. We have seen therapists also and have learned to show love other ways if needed. But we are in a very good place and marriage is great for us.

It’s disheartening I’m sure for individuals who have difficulty with intimacy (for a variety of reasons) to hear this discussion. Hearing “someone’s going to tap out” I’m sure would feel really upsetting. Some people are asexual, some people really struggle with libido, some people deal with erectile dysfunction, mental health can affect their intimacy, some people mentally must heal from physical or sexual trauma from their past which can affect their current sexual identities and activity.. the list goes on! Sexuality is not what makes a marriage, and certainly is not realistic for all marriages at all times in their relationship. Intimacy on an emotional level and a deep feeling that someone supports, uplifts and understands you is what makes a relationship work, in my opinion.

58 times a year in a MARRIAGE sounds rather high, considering. There are only 52 weeks in a year, so... once a week (52) + 2 birthdays + 1 anniversary... we're at 55 times... let's see... + a date night + weekend getaway + bonus night during the summer = 58. And that's me assuming a married couple with no kids.
