Most people don’t know how crazy the bevels are on those blades. They have a deep hollow grind at the heel that then blends into a flat grind to reinforce the tip.

Do you think you could get Jeff Turner on your podcast? They’ve been making very fine looking blades for these past few years-distinctive designs.

Perfect! Been wanting an Elvia from Turner for a few weeks now, since locating then. Great point down blade! 👍🗡️👊. Thanks Bob!

The Elvia is sweet! I carry a fix blade on belt most often my CRKT Obake, but often a Dexter Russel pairing knife (I like it better than the Victorinox). I made the kydex myself & added the pinky groove & since I had the kydex my cost was like $12! That is hard to beat for that price, & whike it isn't as tough should I stab into bone the Pairing knife with most likely get me through that eventt & then end up in evidence. I work private security & executive protection so having such a small, light, but effective knife near my midline is a great tool for breaking a grapple, & creating space to safely deploy my handgun. Hard to justify the additional cost & weight, but maybe if I get my hands on one I'll change my mind.

Been wanting one of these for a minute now. Waiting for the next drop hopefully I can get a serrated one. Until then I’m carrying a Fred Perrin le fruit knife lol.

What do you think of Fred's fruit knife & have you gotten an Elvia yet as comparison would be nice as well.

I hate to say it, but Turner CNC's weakness has always been in their sheaths. I really like their knives and own an Elvia C myself, but my sheath also had that rattle when I first got it. The draw was also overly tight until I re-heated the kydex to make it a bit easier. Also another problem is that you can't get a full purchase on such a small knife due to the sheath riding up so much on the bottom side. This is okay if you're using an ice pick grip because that back notch on the handle helps you grab with your thumb and forefinger, but in a traditional grip you're stuck drawing the knife with your pinky, ring, and middle finger which really isn't ideal. So you can't really run it as smoothly as a clinch pick (unless you modify your sheath). Just some food for thought! Edit: 10 months after posting this, TurnerCNC made a pocket sheath which changes the design and allows you can get a better purchase on the knife👍

Knifemakers need to take notes from TKell and learn how to do sheaths/carry options. No one does it better!

Do you have a video on your customized fruit knife? Looks like a good starter knife.

the first one is wicked. Most ppl don't realize you don't need a huge blade to cause serious damage

They put a video on Instagram using the elvia to stab into what looked like a tenderloin and they pulled the knife down and the wound just opened pretty much butterflied the tenderloin. It was pretty amazing how much of it they were able to open up

Im from EU, so i bot similar but litle diferent knife from Bastinelli Anomaly it has a good grip, and i think that is good for its purpose. Also has good sheat who is multi cary on the belt and disigned is to not slip not taken from your hends ,and when its slipery that isnt problem cos it has gyipming and hole for finger. Also, it is not a big knife. But serves purpose like biger and with litle training you can bee real good real fast.

Stupid question. But, would it be legal to carry in CA?
@masonball5 Жыл бұрын
Should be. I’m in Ca and all fixed blades are legal, so long as they are not concealed (unless you have a CCW, which is possible in at least 2 counties).

Nice little knife but I'm too old to learn how to use it effectively other than an ice pick motion or stick and tear.

I like these little knives for defense but they would be perfect for me if both edges were sharp ! Then I could pull the trigger ! That would then be a serious cutter !
