A little expensive, but I will definitely recommend it. I’ve had mine since they released and have used it a good bit. A little hard to tell but it already has a slight patina, that does well but you’ll need to watch is as it is 1095. Works well in all edc situations so far, and has even helped me in the kitchen a few times! 👍🏼

Always was supposed to be Carbon steel. TOPS Standars stuff. For that a bit expensive. But that is TOPS average pricing, it us popular and Ed gets his trademark share there, too.

I got this knife about 3 months ago and I haven’t used it much but I have handled it quite a bit. My sneak reaper is fading. I messaged tops about it and they said it’s supposed to fade. That was the intended effect with the scales. Kinda bummed because that’s the reason I bought the knife.

If you want something “slice-y”, go with the Spyderco. This is more a “stabby” blade.

@Clifford_C, I’d like to amend my assessment of the Pionero. It’s a good slicer, it’s just not good at sexy push-cutting through a sheet of paper. It’s thicker behind the bezel of the edge than any of my Spydies.

The knife it's modeled after is 8 bucks. I think he could've found a way to do a collab and keep the price below 80$. It's way over 100$. That kinda cash grab pisses me off. Just sayin. I like the knife but I bought a Pioneer woman for 8 bucks instead.

if this were 154cm (or any other middle class stainless), i'd be all over it. 1095, what this is made of, is nothing i like.

It will depend on the use. I have the same opinion about this one, as i would use it to do some food prep or as a steak knife. I don't want a carbon steel to deal with food. But what a nice design. I hope they'll do another batch, with some stainless steel like with the Tops Dicer 3.

@@traeucity6087 I'm not a chief and i don't want to deal with rust when i do food prep, especially outside and not at home. If it's hilarious for you, i'm fine. I have some carbon steel in the kitchen, where i'm able to take care with the blades. But that's my business if i prefer VG10 like steels for that purpose, whatever the "best chief's knives" are made of, and not loosing time wiping and checking blades all the day. Best cars have carbon frames and carbon/ceramic brake's disks, but i prefer the aluminium frame and steel brake's disks in mine. Cheaper, and more suitable for daily use for any people. That's hilarious too ?

That’s literally what it’s based on. During one of Ed’s classes they were testing knives on a pig. Everyone’s fancy knives were breaking on bone. The best performing knife that day was the Pioneer Woman paring knife that cost $5 at Walmart. Ed posted that and Pioneer woman knives sold out everywhere.

Blade Ops is super slow to ship. Ordered x1 knife from them a few years back and it took over a month. Never again with them! With that said, hopefully it’s not the same for you and it arrives soon! 👍🏼
