Thanks for the video it helped motivate me to buy one. It came today....really happy with this knife. Just something about it I really enjoy. Lot of fun to fidget with and it takes a super sharp edge and runs through paper like butter. Very light, thin, handsome, kinda cheap feeling...literally cheap in cost....I dunno man its just a satisfying knife.

It is a cool looking knife. But very cheap. I just bought a Gerber Sharkbelly Folding Pocket knife. With A 3.2 inch 420HC sheepsfoot blade. From Bass Pro Shops online.

gerber has always straight up ignored my warranty requests. I can't bring myself to buy anything from them again even though they're probably not bad knives

Gerber is pretty hit or miss in my experience. I really liked the LST. (Its an old design from the early 1980s, but a 420hc lock-back with a 2.6" blade and frn handle all in a package that weighs less than 1.4 ounces... yes please.) The Paraframe mini is pretty bad. So is the SB 2.5, though it's much more usable than the Paraframe Mini. Their copy of the CRKT M16, the Gerber Evo is just bad. However I've heard good things about the Sharbelly from people who have it. And I've heard a lot of people saying good things about the Zilch, enough that I picked one up and put it in the box of knives that will become birthday/Christmas/etc... presents. Now I just need to "get it" as a present for a birthday/Christmas/etc... So here's hoping that this is one of Gerber's solid EDC performers.

Thanks for doing this review. I would have never known about the Zilch if you hadn't. I do need a quick knife fix so I think I'll drop by Lowe's. I am worried about the 7Cr steel though. Very good review.

well, 7Cr steel again. a no-go for me. for 20 USD you get very good Sitivien or Ganzo folders with 8Cr or 440C and G10. for 25 you get D2 or 14C28N. so i don't see why i should buy a 7Cr Gerber, sorry.

Hope Gerber is listening, you can tell that SOG and Buck are kinda listening. Definitely they aren’t paying near as much attention as Civivi and Kizer. Even with this knife, it is evident how far out of touch Gerber is with the knife enthusiast.

Junk, it still has mystery steel, complete garbage with 3 5 or 7 Cr bottom of the barrel steel. Don't trust Gerber they can screw up any product or design, this goes for Fiskers line of machetes' too.

@@RealBoiJare Just my opinion, but 7cr17mov isn't a junk steel. If you check the stats on the steel you'll see it is basically a Chinese version of 440a. Its used pretty extensively in Rough Rider traditional knives, among others. And unless you're going to be abusing it in the Canadian bush, a knife in this steel (that is properly hardened) should reliably do a good days work. That said, you can get a number of Ganzo knives in 440C and D2 for around $25. The Ganzo FB27S is a basically a RAT2 with a crossbar lock in 440c. The FB41S is a Ganzo liner lock, flipper knife in D2. Both are under $25 on Amazon and both are very nice knives. And if you don't like their looks, they're far from the only Ganzos in those steels in the price range you specified. The SanRenMu 710/7010/Land710 is a solid frame-lock using 8cr13mov/8cr14mov for around $20. Its far from the only SanRenMu knife in that steel in that price range. They have stuff with crossbar locks, liner locks, frame-locks... listed on Amazon.
