Saving Money 💰at LANDFILL Erosion!

We chose to save money for erosion control at our landfill site by using the Yamaha four wheeler to spread winter rye grass versus bringing in the costly hydro-seeder guys. We the got our old hay blower running again and blew straw all over the side slope of the landfill to help hold the seed in place as well as aid in germination. With the upcoming rains, the seed should sprout and help with the erosion of soil on the landfill slopes. Thanks for watching, commenting, & supporting my channel - it means a lot to me!!

I have worked through the years, small companies, to large corporations, this appears to be the ideal place to work, the owner, boss, nows your name, and cares about, all of his people. Very rare environment for worker owner relationship. 60+ years ago this was common. Now the $$$ is the rule of business. God bless you and your attitude to employees and business.

I’d not seen straw blowing before coming across it on the Dirt Perfect channel with Mike and the other A.Aron, Man Behind the Scenes. In my part of the world, a field to be seeded with grass is generally ploughed or harrowed, depending on the previous use and current soil state, rolled then drilled or broadcast seeded and sometimes rolled again. I guess our farmers find straw a bit more expensive or too precious as it’s used for bedding for livestock which has to stay inside during the winter months. Depending on the weather the previous summer/fall straw can be in seriously short supply. British farmers are the hardest working bunch of people I know, working every day of the year for precious little reward, their prices being constantly eroded by a few massive supermarket chains who have said farmers over a barrel. Farmers everywhere have my complete respect and admiration.

Sitting here listening to you chat. In Australia, the quad bikes were very popular with the farmers. There were so many people killed and badly injured that the law was changed so they could only be used with ROPS fitted. Apparently the damage was caused by when they rolled over. Be very careful Ryan.

Nope haven’t tried that. I want to save them for compost and sides slopes as they should help the vegetation.

Using wire strippers backwards. Gripper should grab on wire insulation that is staying and cutting head should cut and pull insulation off end of wire. Length of strip is where you put the cutter on wire. Works much better that way.

A lot of times with hydrostatic transmissions when you’re going down hill at a certain speed and gravity wants to take you down faster the hydrostat holds you back from over speeding. Is that the noise you’re hearing?
