Light up is more of an obstruction, rather than a meaningful feature. Battery leakage can ruin a figure. Not even speaking about it limiting the articulation and detail.

I ordered two of this guy from amiami, the first one came and that torso joint had a warped leg causing the joint to bow out like an old marvel legends elbow. Got a hold of them for a replacement and opened my other one in the meantime- same issue. So idk if I've got terrible luck or if they're all like that

I love Issac but this was honestly the worst figure. Lazy design choices for knees and elbows, plasma cutter can’t even rotate. Bare minimum accessories and no light up features. My neca one kinda beats it besides paint and size scaling

I don't have the Neca one, but it's undebatable that this is a pretty lazy release.

I ordered this just as I love Dead Space. I really liked the Sam Bridges figma. I will say though that these figures will never compared to the Neca Dead Space figs. They had built in light up visors and health UI for just £30. Honestly Goodsmile should take note from Joytoy for joints. They are super on point.

Don't have the Neca one but I've gotten a lot of comments about how it's goated. Honestly light up features at 30 bucks sounds insane.

That's actually identical to some Revoltech Yamaguchi elbows. I guess they tried something different because the usual Figma joint would have been impeded by the armor, but it didn't really fare any better. Figma seems to considers leg splits to be optional unless your character is a ninja/ from certain action anime. Dread Samus can nearly kick herself in the head upwards but gets only about 45 degrees outwards (and has zero ankle tilt).

I bought it but I still prefer the Neca version because of the LED system. This version is based on the remake from 2023 not on the original game from 2008.

Generally like the sculpt but man those elbows are impossible not to stare at. The old NECA figures clear this one pretty handily surprisingly. And what’s the deal with so little accessories. Say what you will about Doom Slayer but he came with everything you’d expect him to

True. Doom Slayer at least could be considered a complete package with all the accessories, and here we have a weapon that doesn't even spin.

Figma has a much broader range of characters than Tamashii or Revoltech. They're just vastly overpriced and inconsistent with engineering and accessories.

Really depends how you look at it. Each brand has their pros and cons. Figuarts mostly does way better engineer but is also often allergic to painting their figures. Revoltech is flashy and does bonkers articulation that however sometimes looks like absolute garbage. figma actually fully paints their figures and shines with accessories while seemingly uncapable to move away from their basic articulation. There's exceptions to everything I've just said, but regardless that's how i see it.

As soon as I saw the look of it all when revealed, I expected another Doom Slayer case and I am right: it uses the equivalent of engineering and it’s probably worse here. Doomguy was top heavy and had small pegs for the torso with hinges just like Isaac here which is automatically a problem. The reason why I’m disappointed to see all of that is because the figma Dread Samus is exceptional in every respect compared to both Isaac and Doomguy. Better shoulders, better knees, better torso (double ballpeg), better hips, better ankles, better everything. Max Factory has quite the uphill for the upcoming Triforce members for Tears of the Kingdom.

If there's one thing about figma that bothers me more than anything it's the inconsistency. You get exceptional figures from time to time and then are just left wondering why they don't keep using some of the good engineering. I dunno, is it a budget thing? Point is, it sucks.

@@therealPayne Character design must be considered in the engineering. A good example is how Jada made the Chun-Li figure. Both the anatomy and aesthetics of the design must be considered when joints are engineered, especially if characters are based on “humans”. Proportions are everything as well as articulations to me.

I gave up on figma after doom guyver, came back for their guyver 2.0 and then later sold it. They just don't feel as good as they used to and price hike ain't worth it.
