Princesses or dog silhouette are my favorites, but I’d be happy with any of those prints. Thanks for sharing Robin. Cheers!

A really good night of shooting. My favorite however was 5:17 which didn't make the cut at the end. Like the fact that while it is very dark the few places with light are enough to carve out a strong portrait, with just enough background to lend some context. Reminds me of Frank Miller's Sin City.

Love the flexibility of tri-x. Great roll. Both the guy and the dog in a corner and the couple are stunning. The quinceañeras are wonderful and very Guadalajara. Bravo Robin.

Thank you so much for the great video Robin. You inspire me to go out and motivates me to make photographs. The photograph with the happy couple I like the most. Thank you so much for shearing you few on the photography. Stay healthy. 👍😊👌

The couple framed together under the lights. Phenomenal. I appreciate your patience when taking the image. Thanks for the tip, EI800, lens aperture wide open and pushed +2 at the lab. Awesome.

Great images, the girls at 3:25 is my favourite ... and ancient ritual contrasted by the girl with the cell phone and the pandemic masks, beautiful. Intrigued as to how you worked out what shutter speed to use given you weren't metering

Yeah I was wondering about that too, Ian. Guess it just comes down to practice but maybe Sir Robin could shed some light on this??

awesome shoots with the Kodak Tri-X. I think now I know what to do with the three rolls I got in the fridge :-). They've been sitting there way too long. There are also some really nice shoots with triX400@1600 in your xTRA WIDE II zine. But this episode shoot at night really helped to understand the film. You allways have to select photos, but I was surprised the guys with the mountain bikes didn't make it in your prints selection. Thanks for sharing really nice shoots, also apreciate your comments on metering.

Great shots. Eugene Smith used to push TriX really far, like some of the shots from his Jazz Loft Project we’re pushed to 3200. The famous photo of Thelonious Monk was 3200 iirc. Thanks Robin, really helpful to see someone actually shooting on the street. Very valuable to see skilled people actually do their craft.

Great shots Robin. I love the shot of the couple next to the street lamp. I shoot tri-x at 1600 or 3200 and stand develop it. You can’t tell it wasn’t shot at 400, no extra grain really, full highlight and shadow details.

The first one is definitely my favourite, even if the others are also pretty cool. I am heading down to Mexico, Playa del Carmen on Monday. I have Tri-X plus some other rolls (mix of colours and b&w). I do not have a Leica M6 though... I am bringing with me the mighty Nikon F4 :D If you are heading to Playa/Tulum in the next couple of weeks, let me know :)

Like you said, too bad you can't afford, film wise, to work the scene. I find the scene with the girls with the white dresses had incredible potential. It reminded me of that famous Vivian Maier shot with the blurred woman wearing a white dress at night.

So do you set the M6 to 400 or 1600 when pushing TX ?
@grifter19643 жыл бұрын
Did you meter for 1600 then told the lap to develop at 1600? Or did you meter at 400 then told the lab to develop as if you metered at 1600. The girls in the white dress is my favorite
