Nothing but respect for ALL because I learned a lot by LAYING BACK IN THE CUT & watching and learning. I remember the Rasta PIG from JAMACIA when he had EVERYBODY who stayed near the bottom near EAST WATKINS STREET up all night because of the WARS ALL NIGHT. I learned to keep my mouth shut and listen and pay attention to details. BECAUSE YOUR LIFE MIGHT DEPEND ON IT………So I was LEARNING AND NOT GLAMORIZING TO LIVE!!!!!!! THE SOUTH TAUGHT ME ALOT. WISDOM IS DEFINITELY KNOWLEDGE which only comes with the willingness to open up for MATURITY. Some individuals don’t want to LEARN while sitting on the bench. I was impatient at first until you start seeing the LIVE ACTION, then you realize MAYBE YOU BETTER learn the ENTIRE LESSON before that opportunity comes. THANK YOU CSRA…….

I love Augusta! I was born there, moved around a little bit as a military brat, then moved back after my father retired and graduated from high school there. There are a lot of bad areas, but there are a lot of good areas. I'm currently in the military, and when I retire in another few years I plan on moving back to work in the community. Augusta is one of the best kept secrets in Georgia and the South - not a lot of people, it's a military town, college town, the cost of living is good, if you want to get out of town there are some other places nearby. The Cyber Center that is opening up on base will bring in a lot of jobs, not to mention the Masters always brings in a lot of revenue and is really good for the economy. The men in the video are correct - the music scene in Augusta has always been great, but not just in rap. You also have gospel, r&b, musicians, producers, not to mention the athletes, lawyers, doctors, actors that have come out of Augusta. Shot out to Deon Grant, Wycliffe Gordon, George Kitchens, Trey McLaughlin, Eric Roundtree, Vernon Forrest, Big Uly. I can't leave out James Brown, Hulk Hogan, Laurence Fishburne, Horace Grant, Sharon Jones, Jessye Norman, and so many others. I love you all from Augusta, and I'll see you soon - we have work to do!!

Augusta, Ga (current home, born & raised) is not as bad as these negative people in the comments make it out to be. I attend Augusta University and reside in their dormitory. Love the atmosphere and networking opportunities for my desired medical career. So, Augusta is what you make out of it. For that, please don’t bash this place like it is not full of opportunity. Those of you who say there is nothing to offer are probably the same ones doing absolutely nothing far as an education or career. Yes, it is not your Atlanta or Charlotte - but it has the potential to be that or greater. Move up and out if you are seeking their type of movement, but let’s not act like we haven’t had success come out these streets or have great intentions. Augusta has tons of talent, talent that is undiscovered yet. Being raised here was so much fun and I was never deprived of what any other city could offer me. So my advice to the ignorant is to make Augusta what it deserves to be recognized as. Rep your city because in a way it is what made you (beginning education, friends, first jobs, family, etc.)

I'm Augusta born and raised, and I appreciate this video allowing me to see some of my fellow Augusta residents. I'm not part of this scene or anything, and it's nice to get a different perspective. I've heard of the murders, plus my mom was almost murdered or kidnapped back in the 90s on Telfair. My parents lived downtown on Battle Row- really close by to that incident- while they had me, but were lucky enough to move to a house near Lake Forest when I was two years old. We have a lot of good people here, including a community of artists, and I know a lot of them are in the streets like these men. I have no doubt they'll do great things, whether they stay here or not.

Having lived all over the country, 30 states, especially all over the South, Augusta has a lot of jobs, great small business, and a lot of entertainment. There are neighborhoods that are safe in the suburbs like Evans, Grovetown, Martinez, and North Augusta, in SC. All in all this city is quiet when compared to others the same size. If you think Augusta is tough, try Dayton, Ohio.

WOW!!!! My city born and raised graduated from Josey back in the day living in ATL now for many many years.Checking out this footage and I notice my brother using the term crabs in the barrel once you realize that you are in a barrel with crabs get da fuck out!!!!!! If you can't pursue your dreams in Augusta please leave. Augusta has no great job opportunities and no entertainment industry. Having cookouts in the summer in somebody's back yard getting drunk then fighting and killing our own ppl ain't really entertainment. I can remember when Barton village was a village ppl actually looked out for each other and their kids. Not so much nowadays. The brothers mean well but sometimes you gotta get outta your own way to make shit happen for you and your family. Working at Wal-Mart and target for 25 yrs ain't for everybody. I'm glad I left when I did i love my city but....i had to get up get out and do something. For real doe!

Musically Speaking : I agree that brothers need to put differences aside and squash negative agendas and openly discuss what can be done unified to draw All industry attention to the CSRA. I lived in Augusta from 96 to 2009 and I could not make a foot hold musically because of the crab in the bucket situation. Whether it was in the clubs, the radio or church. I couldn't find the acceptance of the people. Those close around me only wanted me to stay local in a church and put my dreams to the side. Those who could have helped expedite my success wouldn't lift a finger so I left the area. It's a damned shame. This City has something special. ..I see it. .I know it..but jealous spirits reign supreme. I pray that it changes.

@larkallen95426 жыл бұрын
Before it became a golf club, was a plant farm (nursery) from 1858-1933. Now, who do you think would have been cultivating the plants? Before it was purchased in 1858, it was an indigo plantation, a trade that relied heavily on slave labor during the time, in a place where all cultivation of crops were driven by this labor. Don't be misled. This is the reason why that if look up the history of Augusta National, nothing is mentioned of the land's history before 1860 unless you do additional research.

Y'all remember that creepy hidden house on a hill on Skinner Mill Rd. that got torn down recently with the grave yard across the street? I'm an Uber driver here and picked up a rider over there and he told me that house used to be a plantation house owned by the Skinners that stretched all the way to Washington Rd. where that white house is on the corner of Fury's Ferry and Washington across from Warren Baptist church. Apparently that white house used to be the slave quarters and when I was really little I had a nightmare about that house, which I also live walking distance from. This town has some dark history and I have no trouble believing the Master's used to be one as well.

Meadowbrook....from back in the day...and still this day...lived in other cities much bigger but it’s nothing like home...The music scene I know nothing about but you have to know where you are and who you are around in AUG....peace..

Been raised in AUG all my life. We rep our city at Dropzone, despite the hate we get. The hate keep us motivated tho. Makes us wanna do better than the rest. We doing better than the rest.
@DropzoneAugusta6 жыл бұрын
We had artists come out of Woodlake, Barton Village, Apple Valley, East Boundary, and all points in between. We tried uniting the scene, but all we get is hate cause we white.
@DropzoneAugusta6 жыл бұрын
We just gonna keep doing what we do. Either you can hate on the haters, or you can do something with that hate. We doing something, and we ain't hatin.

James Brown is from Aiken, SC. It sits on the line with Augusta, they’re like 10 mins apart. It’s all referred to as the CSRA. The whole area is the same. And North Augusta is a city in South Carolina.
