The scene where Johnny was a little boy and upset that his mom was getting remarried and going through a hidden box of his dad's things was the saddest part of the entire series. It was right up there with the drunk Miyagi scene from the original film.

Ugh I thought it was the worst scene of the entire season .. the way his mom shows him rhe ring and says he proposed, the kid looks like he’s like 6 there’s no way he can understand that, and then she takes it a step further and says “u have a new daddy now” hahaha It’s laughably ridiculous, who would say that to their young son about a man that he doesn’t even know? Nah I’m sorry that scene was bad bad bad not good

For Miguel the reason why he started to fall back from Johnny is because since he looked at him as a father, he finally expressed himself to Johnny in Episode 8. But at the end of the conversation Johnny calls him Robby. So subconsciously Johnny was really talking to Robby, not Miguel. That broke Miguel’s heart.

One thing I noticed that's a huge plot hole. One scene shows Robby crashing at Cobra Kai. Then when his mom shows up at Johnny's house, she tells him that Silver shows up, gives Robby a car and suit for prom, gives her money and offers her a job. When did Robby go back to his mom's house?

It never ceases to amaze me throughout Season 4 that neither Daniel nor Johnny realize that a well-rounded fighter (whether for competition or personal self-defense/combat) posseses BOTH defensive AND offensive techniques. I used to compete in amateur boxing, and every landed punch was a point. If you deflect/slip/block a punch, that is a point your opponent didn't score. Knowing and practicing strong offense along with strong defense is NOT going to create a bully no more than owning a gun will create a psychopathic murderer. Those two need to grow the f up. I'm in the same age bracket as those 2 (47 y.o.) and I just shake my head, smirking while they're arguing like children, lol. All in all, though, I LOVE the show and most of the characters in it (or love to hate them like Dmitry, Sam, and Kyler).

When it comes to Daniel, the lack of that realization has been baffling me since season one. Daniel constantly preaches balance and then only teaches defense. How does he not realize that only teaching defense is unbalanced?

Lol so I think the double or nothing was close enough, since the spirit of the bet was someone wins a six-pack. So, kreese wins the initial bet and is owed a six-pack. He can either double his investment if he wins, or the ownership of the current six-pack is reversed. It’s not exactly double or nothing, but since the goal was for someone to buy beer, it makes sense.

It’s funny they reference Bloodsport many times and even show it at the drive in theater but the hockey game fight was I believe a nod to another Van Damme movie Kickboxer. Where the teacher (in this case Johnny) takes the student (Daniel) to a public place a hockey game and in Kickboxer it was a bar but the teacher makes the guys mad at the student so he can fight them as a way of training and teach them a lesson

Excellent summary! Daniel is following his promise by taking a "broad interpretation" of not teaching Miaygi-do, by having Chozen serve as a proxy. The next fight should be: Terry vs. Chozen.. However, I would want the show to do one thing: show a connection between if the styles of Cobra-Kai and Miaygi-do, have a common mentor. For example, if Sato taught the Captain who taught Kreese who taught Johnny..and if Miaygi taught Daniel.. and since Miaygi's dad taught Sato and Miaygi, then well..you get the idea. 😉

Chozen is more well rounded. Just as important Chozen can teach the mental side, something Kreese and Dilver both do well. Daniel hasn't progressed to that point yet,

I’ve always done it where if the original winner losses he gets nothing. Hence the “nothing” of double or nothing. If he wins, he gets double. And since Terry was losing he should’ve gotten no beer. Which could’ve avoided a raging bender that ended with Stingray in a hospital and crease going to jail

I think maybe YOU don't understand what Double or Nothing means. Yes, Silver won, so he gets the beer. That IS how it works. It simply means if he lost then he would owe Kreese two 6 packs. But he won, so he gets just the one original 6 pack since that was the original bet.
