Hi Nicky!! Can you find Acrylic based glaze? I used this mainly for my glazing projects. If you can go to a home improvement store or a Arts/Craft store and ask them for a acrylic glaze they may have it. If you go to my amazon store, (link is in my video description) you can see the glazes listed and maybe you can show these brands to your local store to help you find an equivalent. I hope this helps!! ❤️🎨🙏

Hi Christina! I love this technique as well! It totally looks like a grade school chalkboard eraser! Im sure you have heard that before! I will get my hands on one of those next to add to my "miracle repertoire " of goodies! I do have a question about not priming your piece first. Especially an old piece. Other artists don't do it either and I wonder about tannins. Thanks for a great tutorial. Also do you sell a majority of your work or use in your own home?
@Spartanwife277 ай бұрын
I love this technique!! So does the application itself leave lines at all from the tool you use? And if so, do they level out so you can’t see them? I would assume they do because it’s chalk paint, but I wasn’t sure if the glaze made a difference with that. Thanks!

Hi Christina, it seems to me that maybe one can by pass the base different coats of placing the paints where you want them to go before doing the clear glaze. How would painting the entire piece in the mixed color of Aubusson Blue and Olive, letting it dry, then adding the clear glaze with the coordinating colors on top for the meshing? Would it work this way?
@TheReclaimedHeirloom4 жыл бұрын
Maria Alvarez ... absolutely!! There is no way of doing base to glaze then add meshing technique, I generally like to see where I want the colours to be place before hand for my personal visual but you can definitely by pass and place the base and glaze which works for you too! Definitely place the colours down that work best your vision! I actually think some people would find it much easier to place a full base coat first then mesh from there! That is totally fine 🎨😉🤗

Amy Broudy ... thank you so much Amy for your thoughtful comment and feedback 🙏💙💙 As for latex paint 🎨 I am not sure 🤔 only because I have never done a furniture project with latex before. With latex being an oil base I would probably recommend a primer first. What kind of brushes do you use? And as you put paint on over wet paint of a different color do you still re-dip in the full can of paint? Do you worry about contaminating your colors in their cans?
@TheReclaimedHeirloom4 жыл бұрын
Kr Wilson ... So in the video I mentions I used chippy bushes for this project... I use a different brush for each colour when I work from the can so I don’t contaminate the colours. You can pour out your paint separately and use the same brush if that is easier as well .... if you view my previous view on “Colour Meshing” it is a Scandinavian Pink Armoire... I made a longer very detailed video and you exactly what I do with my paint ... this tutorial is a refresher and showing another example of colour meshing with more contrast colour palate. You can use any brush you wish ... it’s the meshing tool that does the final results in the end. Hope this helps and thanks so much for watching 🙏💙

Was it wooster that makes the blending tool that you used in a previous video? And who makes the meshing tool?
@TheReclaimedHeirloom4 жыл бұрын
Gwen Buller ... so the original tool to use the meshing technique was the “water wiz” which is a synthetic applicator and it is longer and great for larger furniture pieces. The “Wooster wool pro” is a real wool meshing applicator again same technique just a different tool but is great for smaller pieces. Both work the same and are easy to use. Also both wash up very well with soap and water and repeat use. Hope this helps 😉🎨💙

If your glaze starts to dry while you’re blending, do you add water or more glaze? (I haven’t tried using glaze yet, but your videos are so inspiring, I think I’m going to!)
@TheReclaimedHeirloom3 жыл бұрын
Hi Shannon, just add more glaze, you can also use glaze extender which will help the glaze not from drying out so fast. I have a new video out today, I hope you like it! ❤️🎨🙏

I have never seen this technique, and it’s BEAUTIFUL, looks like so much fun!! I have a question, hope it’s not a silly one! Lol the item you are using to do the blending, I know you said it was for floors. It seriously looks like a sponge mop head. Would any kind of sponge mop head and even sponge roller heads work? Or dies it have to be the ones you have listed and if so, why? I just like knowing “why” I am using a specific product, technique etc. I live your work and really love your step by step instructions!!

Hi Kim, Based on what you are describing I understand your comment! I have used only these types of meshing tools to get the desired effects. The meshing tools either has a synthetic material or its natural wool. I have tried using a sponge (similar to what is on a traditional mop) and I did not get the same blending effects like I get with the ones I have described in my video. I hope this helps!! Thanks for subscribing to my channel!! :)

What tool are you using for the mesh technique
@jenaleblanc-webb41384 жыл бұрын
Just curious~Are you waiting for the Country Grey & Honfleur to dry before applying the Graphite? Or just getting the paint on there? And also You're using a "Clear Glaze" what exactly did you use here? a gel medium, or glazing medium?
@TheReclaimedHeirloom4 жыл бұрын
Jena LeBlanc-Webb ... thanks so much for watching 🙏💙 I applied the clear glaze ( clear glaze effects water base by general finishes) before the paint, you want to do all your paint blending while the glaze is moist. I don’t wait for anything to dry first , the clear glaze is giving you the working time and the balance of working with clear glaze is for the blending to have more control with your blending process. You can use any clear glaze products I recommend that it is water base 😉🎨 Hope this helps 💗 Thanks for watching 🙏

So. The mesh brush just sits on a towel or paper waiting to be used . inbetween adding the Glaze and paint.colors.. Meaning its dry ??? Gosh i hope u get what im asking.. This is SO BEAUTIFUL
@TheReclaimedHeirloom4 жыл бұрын
dora lee ... thank you so much for your comment and question! 🙏🎨 The paper towel or clean cloth is only for off loading paint and glaze as you work! So you have a build up on the meshing applicator as you are working! Just give it a wipe as you are working to remove build up of paint and glaze! Hope with helps 💙💙🤗
