We finally got our hands on the all-new Accord for a week and even though some of you have voiced your dissatisfaction for the removal of the 2.0T engine, the reality is less than 10% of Accord buyers choose that engine and with a 0-60 MPH time of 6.4 secs, the new hybrid powertrain is only about 0.5 secs slower and gets nearly double the MPG's!

I bought an EX-L in early March and have been very happy with it. The only thing I dislike is the black interior as summer weather gets here, but the overuse of black interiors has become a problem with all the Honda models. Too few offer gray or beige (ivory) interiors now. My mpg is average 48-49 in mixed driving, so i can't complain. I chose the EX-L for the features included, and the 17 inch tires that provide better gas mileage and less road noise. I also made sure to get blind spot indicator with my car. Due to a parts shortage, a huge percentage of Accords do not have BSI installed this year. Make sure to ask the dealer about BSI on each car you test drive if that's important to you.

Good review Sofyan. It is amazing to see the variation in fuel economy between drivers and locales. I took delivery of my 2023 Touring March 1st in SE Wisconsin. As the weather has heated up and the engine has broken in, I am currently averaging 43.6 mpg in 1500 miles. However, in the last 800 or so miles, it is over 45. This is mix of highway (60-75mph) and city. Yes, I drive with a light foot to get good fuel economy and it is usually in ECO drive mode. Many have said, this looks like an old man's car. Well, I am an old man of 64 and I am loving this car. So glad it is much quieter than the previous generation. That was my main concern.

I have a 2018 Accord Hybrid Touring. It is a bit noisier, but not as bad as some will imply. In over five years since break-in (not because of break-in, that's when I started keeping detailed records), over all driving conditions, I am averaging 48.0 mpg (it was rated at 47, both city and highway). I'm not an aggressive driver, but I am not passive either. The only thing that I think contributes to my mpg, is not changing speeds aggressively. I try to anticipate stops, and situations where I will want acceleration (like on-ramps). But my foot can be "heavy" when needs be.

@timothywood4972 Жыл бұрын
@@mikemichaels1490 Congratulations to you. Oh, I’m so happy and excited for you. It sounds like you bought the top of the line, Touring trim? That’s the trim I would want as it has ALL the bells and whistles, and no cost cutting on interior trim (door panels,etc.), found on lower Accord level trims, shamefully, as every Honda Accord trim should have full padding trim on all 4 door panels, not just the fronts. Whenever I discovered that the rear door panels,on lower trim models are all hard plastics, save for the mildly padded Rubbermaid arms rests, I thought to myself; “OMG, what is the world coming to”. Quite frankly, this dismal surprise, on a Honda Accord, is well, SACRILEGIOUS ! Shame on Honda for this cost cutting on their pride and joy that’s been their major bread winner for the last 46 years, enabling it to make not only Car and Drivers annual top 10 best list, but Motor Trend as well. Though, any trim level of the all new accord is a beautiful automobile; there’s no denying the superb engineering genius that Honda has always infused into the Honda Accord. Not to mention a 17 cubic foot trunk, as well as a cavernous interior with nearly 41 inches of rear leg room. No matter the engine preference, whether it be the 1.5 turbo or the amazing new 2.0 hybrid motor, you’re still getting great gas mileage and great performance from either engine. However, my preference is the 2.0 hybrid engine; no denying that EPA rating of 46-51 mpg city, 41 to 44 mpg highway rating , all the while making 204 horsepower and 247 lb Ft of instantaneous torque provided by the electric motors from 0 rpm to 3000 rpm. That’s good for 0-60mph in 6.4 seconds; impressive. Not to mention it’s near sports car handling of 0.89 g-force around the bends, with levels of luxury refinement in the ride, and the hush hush quiet interior. In conclusion, nothing drives, nor can ever be what the Honda Accord is, and thats an unparalleled balance of everything to all consumers who buy the Accord, and continue to be because of these reasons. The Honda Accord truly is an engineering marvel ! Enjoy your car. I can’t wait until I can get one too.

@jeffjo87322 ай бұрын
I find that the negativity comes from people who don't want it to compare favorably to the Toyota system. Which they accept, on faith alone, as "the hybrid king." The fact is that, in equivalent cars, the Honda is as good or better in just about every way. Yes, I know that mpg ratings tend to be marginally lower in the Honda lineup. But the difference is due to the rest of the car, not the hybrid system. Mostly the wheels. This is easily demonstrated by the mpg differences within each lineup. Larger wheels are harder to spin, and cause more aerodynamic drag. The Camry comes standard with 16", or 18", wheels. The larger wheels drop EPA estimates from 51 mpg to 47 mpg (the 16"s also use narrower tires). The Accord comes standard with 17", or 19", wheels. The larger wheels drop EPA estimates from 48 mpg to 44 mpg - the same drop. When wheels size is taken into account, the difference is about 1 mpg. That's barely worth mentioning when comparing cars, but the Toyota does seem to have a very slight edge. Or does it? A better comparison might be the Camry SE/XSE/XLE to the new Civic hybrid. Both come with 18" wheels and 235 mm wide tires, and the Civic gets 49 mpg. "BUT WAIT," I hear you cry, "THE CIVIC IS A COMPACT AND THE CAMRY IS A MIDSIZE!" Not so, according to the EPA. The midsize category is for cars with passenger+cargo volumes from 110 to 119 ft^3. At 100+15=115 ft^3, the Camry fits right in the middle. But so does the Civic, and 99+15=114 ft^3. The Accord is an EPA large c car, at 106+17=123 ft^3. The fact that it gives away only 1 mpg means it is better. The Civic is also faster and more fun to drive. And before you mention reliability, look at unbiased ratings. The Accord and CR-V hybrids have as good, or better, reliability ratings from KBB and JDPower, than the Camry and RAV4,

No. The Hybrid is plenty quick in daily driving and I've never felt wanting for power. There's a nice pull off the line with the traction motor assisting and it'll get you up to 50 mph in no time. Is the 2024 Hybrid more refined? HELL YES! I can't get over how much smoother, quieter and more comfortable this new Accord is over the previous generation. The ride has a smooth solidity to it and without a transmission, the acceleration is just so fluid. The sound deadening is apparent and the new Accord is MUCH quieter than the old generation. It's very evident. The infotainment is VASTLY better than the previous generation and the Bose audio system is much appreciated over the Honda "premium" 10-speaker system of my old Touring. There's clear vocals, solid bass and no rattles coming from anywhere in the car when it's cranked. Wireless Apple CarPlay connects almost instantaneously with very few glitches. The Google integration is slick and having Google Assistant to control temperature, heated/cooled seats, etc. is a nice touch. Sirius XM was removed but I never used it. I just use my phone to stream. One feature that was removed is Homelink. I'm referring to the side view camera mounted on the passenger side mirror, which activates when applying the right turn signal. When switching lanes, I literally never have to take my eyes off the road. And no, blind spot indicators are not the same! Sure, they let you know if a car is within 10 yards of your's, but they could be traveling 5 mph faster than you, or 50 mph faster. Hyundai has adapted this feature now for both sides of the vehicle. For this reason, I'll probably go with the Sonata if and when I Accord ever quits.

I bought this car about 4 months ago. I have a light foot and consequently get around 45 to 46 mpg. It’s quieter than the 2020 hybrid touring I owned. My wife loves the car as I do, but she is not fond of the passenger seat. At five feet tall she almost needs a booster seat. I personally like the new look, especially the rear end. I didn’t really like the lobster claw look. The front end looks good too, but I agree with the reviewer that the plastic on the headlight should have been the same color as the car. I have never liked white cars. The pearl white on my Touring is an exception. It looks great and doesn’t show the dirt. If I really have one complaint, the lane assist doesn’t work as well as the reviewer’s vehicle, and the tires are noisy. Otherwise I love the 2023 Honda Touring Hybrid.

Honda did a good job with the accord and keeping it safe and efficient. I wish they would have given a panoramic roof to this model and some better leather design in the seats.

I really liked the aggressive Audi like look of the prior Accord and didn’t care for this redesign at first. What I realized is how much this Accord resembles or shares styling with the 2nd Gen like 1983, 1984, 1985 Accord Hatchback. The front styling clues have a clear resemblance with the brunt front nose, that unpainted piece at the grill you don’t like and even the reflective LEDs have a square look to them when they are on. I have grown to appreciate the design a lot more.

I love the color. I was glad to see the lobster claw/stapler taillights are gone, along with all that chrome on the nose of the car. Glad to see the gear shift on the floor too. I think they did a great job with this update.

Good review. I still have the 18 Touring 2.0T and love the character and power of the 2.0t. Although I’m not happy they discontinued the 2.0t w/10 spd. I’m not surprised they decided to discontinue it especially since only a few people wanted the 2.0t. I feel this seems to be more of a compromise.

mechanically it's just carryover from the last-gen. Recently I went to the dealer to check out the new Accord, the build quality is just okay...only the upper-trims give you rear air vents & charging ports... and dealers put $4k markup on these new accord hybrids last year i rented a previous-gen accord sport hybrid for a long roadtrip, similar mpg, the interior quality feels better built.

@@naveenthemachine To each their own. It rains too often here in Florida with very strong winds not to warrant AWD on a vehicle if you can afford it. I drive a lot more than I used to and I don’t want to put miles on my various Lexus LS models and my sports cars… I just bought a 24 sport hybrid as a commuter. Fuel economy as a number doesn’t matter to me as much as the range (hence the LS collection), and I get about 450+ miles a tank with mine driving spiritedly. I might be getting old because I see myself keeping this one for more than a year like most of my other cars I am not collecting 😂

My guess is a hybrid plus or PHEV is in the works to replace 2.0t. I predict similar for next gen Camry, where the flagship powertrain will be either Prime or hybrid plus. 2.4t might not meet emissions regulations, which is stricter for sedans.

There’s already a PHEV Accord in China. I hope it’s coming by MMC. If it’s somewhat sportier than the hybrid and retains its efficiency, it’ll make this car much more interesting for the Honda enthusiasts.

Honda should make an Accord Liftback or Accord Wagon, with the same low center of mass. It would be as practical as a CRV, but with better handling and fuel efficiency. The reason the Crosstour flopped is because it had a higher center of mass.

I am surprised Honda actually changed back to the stick shifter from buttons. Not many car companies are willing to go back to the old design even though the old design is better :)
@jeffjo8732 Жыл бұрын
And I am disappointed that they caved in to reviewers who didn't want to change their habits. The buttons are more intuitive (what feels right, as opposed to what is learned), more versatile (the car can change settings automatically, like shifting into park when you turn the car off), easier (you only use two settings with any frequency; reverse is found by swiping your hand down the array, and drive has a huge, self-centering rim), and doesn't take up space that can be useful.

I think the 10th generation is better looking, lobster claw tail lights and all. However, I still like the look of this new model. I'm digging the simplicity of the styling. Reminds me of the simple beautiful designs Mazda has atm. This new Accord has a lot of potential but I must say that the lower trims in mundane colors and smaller wheels look awful. This thing in base trim with the 17s in white looks like an unmarked Ford Interceptor Sedan🤮. Lower trims on the 10th generation still look sharp in comparison.

These performance enthusiasts are crying so much due to Honda discontinuing the 2.0T. Accord has always been a family sized sedan and the market for this car are towards families. The hybrid engine is absolutely perfect as it gives a good amount of performance while being super fuel efficient which is absolutely perfect for a car like this.

I went to 3 local dealerships to deal with multiple problems (sometimes all three dealers for one problem) and their customer service was TRASH and I ended up trading off my car after having it only 7 months/5k miles. My one and only Honda car and experience has led me to swear off the brand forever and recommend those who ask to buy another brand, period.
