Family sedans aren't dead! Despite everyone buying SUV's, both #Honda and #Nissan are introducing all-new or significantly updated versions of the #Accord and #Altima. While Honda goes with the electrified route with the redesigned #HondaAccord #Hybrid, the #NissanAltima fights back with a 2.0L turbo engine and available AWD for the base 2.5L engine. For around $35,000 dollars, which family sedan is the better buy? Special thanks to ‪@BernonCars‬ for joining us to pick a winner between these two stalwart players.

Nissan has proven that there's no school like the old school. Honda's miniscule 1.5 liter turbo or it unbelievably stupid hybrid have taken the Accord right out of the market shopped by any enthusiast. The old 2.0 liter turbo was a decent engine about which a sport minded Accord owner could feel good. Not any more. I refuse to have phony science shoved down my throat by people who think they know better than I do about what I want to drive. Nissan stomps on Honda with its much larger turbo engine which is actually fun to drive. What Nissan should do is bring back its V6 to complement it 4 cylinder turbo. Horsepower, Torque and driving enjoyment can be found in the Nissan. Not in the Honda.

Altima SR VC-Turbo combined fuel economy: 29 mpg. Accord Touring Hybrid combined fuel economy: 44 mpg. Current price of regular gasoline for Pasadena, CA: $4.49 (ARCO). Honda so many old Honda’s on the road currently. Their longevity is proof. Current owner of 2005 RL and two TL TYPE S both automatic.

I feel more confident in the Accord…I’m pissed they ditched the 2.0t but overall quality they do it good.

We need more collabs! And more comparisons! Do a 10th gen vs 11th Gen Accord... We wanna see one last good rip with the 2 liter Turbo!

My heart always goes out to the Accord. 9th gen was my all time favourite, but it's amazing how Honda is able to keep the Accord name for decades, and it's just the quintessential family sedan that everyone just knows. When I think family sedan, the Accord is my first choice. Although, saying good bye to that 3.5L VTEC V6 is sad :(

If honda paired the hybrid with 1.5T, that’d be nice and adequate to replace the 2.0T IMHO

This Accord looks nice and conservative. I would buy it.

My wifes 16 maxima has been flawless for 70k miles. Just change the cvt fluid every 30k and the rest of the car will last well pass 150k miles. The 3.5 vq engine is extremely reliable when taking care of

Isn’t the SL of the Altima the highest trim? Or the vc turbo?

Honda= it's perfectly fine, Nissan= it's not that bad seems to be the general consensus.

I have a 2020 accord touring, and i love how the front looks but hate the lobster claw tail lights. Honda disappointed me with their new face, but i love the new back lights though! I wish they kept the front similar and changed the back

The Altima is the typical “I drive like I have a Porsche turbo S engine, but with a Nissan frame”. You can’t tell those @#%* drivers nothing. Still a great comparison video and the Accord will always be the better car. In.My.Opinion

Honda, bring back the 2 liter turbo. Nissan, ditch the CVT, put in the 9 speed and bring back the SE-R

The Altima looks sharper, the Accord is more refined; neither one will raise your pulse with excitement, I will probably save my money and get a 2 year old Altima (since it's cheaper).

SR is Sport Rally for Nissan Altima My Old Accord is over 200K with nothing but usually oil changes every 3K miles, smaller interiior and more noise. My wife's newer Altima is also over 200K with regular 3k mile oil changes. Feels lower to the ground with more interior room. My friends' 2022 Accords are nice looking in/out but smaller inside. Head always bumping the roof in the back seat!

bold and aggressive doesn't mean good looking. You epitomize what's wrong with the industry. Everyone wanting big bold designs and grilles which is getting too much. Simple and clean is the way to go, like the cars of 20+ years ago
