The new MDX gives us hope that Acura seems to have found their mojo again. We look forward to trying out the Type S models later this year! We'd also like to see Acura give us an Advance plus A-Spec trim together! At just over $58k for this A-Spec model, it is a much better value versus a lot of competitors which get a quite a bit more expensive.

The reviews where you get your dedicated camera man are very high in production quality, definitely better than when you do the selfie-style ones (I understand you can't always do the full ones). On the selfie-style ones, I'd say be careful on your camera being out of focus, for example the recent V60 Polestar was nearly unwatchable, felt fuzzy. Otherwise great reviews. You go well in depth and kind of go through things normal buyer would probably appreciate. I'm glad (despite you getting to drive some fast/fancy cars) you don't still look down on budget-friendlier options.

28:28 DISAGREE on the plug-in hybrid for "slightly better fuel economy". In the first few years you'll be saving a little on fuel but after 5 years and 100,000 miles? The expense of replacing/repairing that battery system more than eats up the slightly better fuel economy savings. So you say, why don't we lease it or sell it before disaster strikes? Well, considering you're paying a premium up front for the plug-in hybrid upgrade, it would take you 5 years or more to recoup the cost of the upgrade. Ultimately, the ONLY reason to get the plug-in is for (1) noticeably better performance (2) the convenience of not filling up and (2) noticeably better options not available on the regular car. Until hybrid battery/system repair and replacement costs come down, this is a nightmare in the secondary market. Stick to the V6 for now.

I’m so glad they didn’t put that 4cyl engine in the new MDX. The new RDXs feel cheaper, less refined, and louder because the 4 cyl is just so much less refined. Initially I thought I’d like it because, on paper, it should be stronger. However, I agree with the professional critics that, in reality, it feels like a step backwards. Buyers who are used to higher-end vehicles will certainly expect the nicer V6, or a V6 with a Turbo option, which is coming.

100% correct, as he ask for the plug-in hybrid with the competition moving forward and full EV leaving many who travel long trips, etc. do not want driver anxiety. Plug-ins with say 50 miles on battery charge will allow most to drive 80%+ on EV and then still have the security of knowing you can drive another 400 miles on gas! Other than that, MDX is much better. The new RX should be bigger with a third row, and also have the plug-in prime format, much like the RA4 Prime in 2022. Fun time for new formats!

This is a massive improvement over the last generation. I wish Honda used the engine tune from the rlx since this is now the flagship. 310hp and 272lb ft of torque would compensate for the weight gain. It would be nice if the type s had the j35 engine with a turbo. It would probably produce close to 400hp. But, I would take this over any of the European competitors, Lexus RX, or Infiniti Q60. The GV80 is a toss up though.

For years I have held back from saying this, but after watching this review, I feel compelled to day something. I find some of your reviews can be overally critical and pick away at the small things. There are many positives, but there are many little things that could be improved. For instance, the 3.5 v6 is a tested and true engine, has good power and adequate torque. If something is not broke, why fix it. Sorry, but this is just my opinion.
