2022 Acura RDX A Spec Advance (Platinum Elite) review by The Straight Pipes. The 2022 Acura RDX is putting down 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque from a 2.0L Turbo 4 Cylinder. At $53,645 USD would you take it over the Genesis GV80, BMW X3, Audi Q5, Lexus RX350, INFINITI QX50, Volvo XC60, Buick Enclave?

I don’t understand why so many people struggle with the, “True Touch,” touchpad. Yes, it’s different than a normal touchpad, but when I test drove an RDX it was pretty easy to acclimate to. Since you can rearrange the icons, you can put the most used ones in the corners and it’s a quick and smooth experience.

I bought my 2020 Acura RDX right after your first review of this SUV! I opted for the Elite trim (I think it's Technology in America) because I didn't want the red dash cluster. One thing I hate about the SUV is that it doesn't have a digital speedometer in the middle, as you see in the video, it's nice to see they added that in the 2022 RDX. There is actually a lock button for the car on the trunk. The button is right beside the trunk release, it took me two months to figure that out haha Also, wouldn't this be more comparable to the 2022 Lexus NX just because you get three-row on the RX?

It is annoying that remote start doesn't come standard for the aspec although you can pay for the acura link subscription (which has been disappointing for me) instead of having a key fob. I agree the GV70 is a better value but it lacks the dealer experience which is largely nonexistent. I’ve joined a couple GV70 and RDX groups and blogs, and the #1 complaint on the GV70 pages is the “Hyundai” experience at a majority of the dealerships - not honoring the free 3 year maintenance, not getting the concierge service or getting sonatas and lesser Hyundais as loaners while their Genesis is in service, etc. I test drove both cars, loved the GV70, almost ordered one but decided to order the RDX instead after experiencing some of that “Hyundai” level service during my car shopping.

It’s a handsome car but the wheels look boring. I’m a fan of the interior. Was hoping for a a Type S version but the weak lane centering might be a deal breaker for me since I tend to do a good bit of distance driving. Have you guys heard anything about a Type S. Doesn’t seem like the bolstering is doing a good job of keeping Yuri in place. I feel like Jakub’s seat is usually just past the B pillar in vehicles and I’m wondering if he had the driver’s seat in his best seating position when he sat in the back. Does the red look as good as the GV70 red? It doesn’t really translate for me on camera. Love how Jakub laughed at Yuri & the lock button 😁

As a married couple looking at this car, I am happy that it doesn't have built in baby shades, those are terrible visually and functionally, unless you have baby's. This is my exact ride! Agree with 95% with your feedback. The one thing I think we're getting sucked in to is the touchscreen. Every car I tested with touchscreens were distracting to change anything and it makes you constantly look down from the road. Hated how the luxury brands force $5+k packages in you when everything is covered in 3 total packages (base, a spec, plat elite a spec) Other car is a manual BMW 340XI so wasn't looking for a something overly aggressive. This is great for a family of 4 + dog

Bought a 2021 RDX A-spec last year and really like almost everything about it. We have some minor gripes/annoyances but nothing major. Overall I feel its a perfectly blended midsize SUV between luxury and sportiness. Its my wife's daily driver and has the right amount of luxury for her without breaking the bank, and for the times I'm driving it has just enough sportiness to have some fun with and reminisce about having a sports car again one day. If there is one thing I really wish it had it would be the digital speedometer. Hoping they add that to the 2021's through a software update since its now available on the 2022's. Its the exact same system so I don't see why it wouldn't be possible.
