@@AutoEnthusiastJC Manuals are NOT limited because of horsepower. All three of America's muscle/pony cars offer them in their highest powered trims save Ford, but it's not like 526 HP is a slouch either. The BMW M2/3/4 cars still have them at 400+ HP. The previous normal BMW 3- and 4-series still had them at ~360 HP. The Corvette had one all the way up to 750 HP. The lack of manual on these new cars is simply because the people who can afford cars in this price range either have insufficient nostalgia for the manual or are too decrepit to appreciate one. Audis don't sell primarily on their sportiness, they sell primarily by being well-made and comfortable. The sport comes extra.
@vomErsten4 жыл бұрын
@Konos44 Was fine in the B8 A4/5 series. Is fine in the 8V A3 series. Audi knows how to make it work, I suspect they thought the smoothness of the 8-speed autobox would be a boon. IMHO, it was a poor choice for the sporty cars. Ironically, it's the 2.0L A-level cars that still have the DCT.

The prestige models means the car comes fully loaded with all options offered by Audi for that car like in the B8 and B7 generations but now they charge you additionally for the Rear diff so you have to get the Sports Package and to get Dynamic Steering is in another package and the Driver assistances package is also separate. It's freaking loud.. Most likely due to those enormous and unnecessary rims/tires

Downsize the wheel diameter at least 2 inches, if they fit around the brakes.

This is a very nice looking car. I’ve always liked the way Audis are understated but still sporty. I will have to say that the front end nose area looks just like the last generation Hyundai Sonata. I still think Audi makes the best digital dash in the business. That center Dash Google map virtual cockpit TFT display is awesome. Great review as always Sofyan. 👍🏽 #redlinereviews and #alexonautos and #tflcar are awesome 👏

Dynamic steering is still not great. I feel like it just speeds up the ratio so the input at the steering wheel feels less than what it's actually doing. With that said my car does have mods to mitigate understeer so maybe I just need to drive faster. 😂

As far as other vehicles for potential comparison, how about a fully-loaded turbo V6 Genesis G70 for maybe $12,000 - $16,000 less than an S4?
@genesisg70224 жыл бұрын
I wondering the same thing. Why didn't he mention the Genesis G70. It has a 0-60 time of 4.5. I love the interior of the Audi. But I really love my 2019 Genesis G70. How come no comments about infotainment screen? People seem to complain about the G70 not being integrated into the dash. What about rear seat room? I also find it funny that this guy keeps complaining about Exhaust sounds and manuals, yet he drives a one gear, no exhaust sound Tesla. Go figure!

The 2020 Jetta GLI my son just got has a very similar rear. I had a 2017 S3 and liked the looks of that better than this. Considered this before I bought the 2020 BMW M340 xdrive. Very happy so far with the BMW.
@dtw16224 жыл бұрын
Okay so if you can afford it would you go for this? Or go for the G70?

Like the head and tail lights. Test drove the 2018 S4 and didn't like the turbos and 8 spd auto vs supercharger &DSG. I am still keeping my 2014 B8.5. With APR Stg1 w 458hp 387lb/ft torque.

If you need cooled seats, it's not that you lose the red leather, you lose the sport seats entirely, reverting to the blah pedestrian seats from the A4. You also can't get the sport steering wheel shown here with heat...another choice they force on you. I got the S5 Sportback and it's the biggest problem with this car. For over $60k, having non-perforated non-ventilated leather seats is a huge miss. It is HOT in the summer.
@tim31724 жыл бұрын
I went for the Alcantara seats which remain nice and cool in the summer without feeling hard in the winter.

The manual B8 and B8.5 retains value much better than the auto. Sad they stopped making the manuals.

In this latest update they added piano black in the centre to get scratched and smudges. Very important update indeed.

@Simon no shock, its just funny how one brand is slowing looking like the other. Before you know it the less likely brand, Hyundai, will soon be preferred over Audi lol.

whomever edits your videos should probably look to lower the highlights and raise the blacks for those interior shots. it might keep things a bit more normal looking and not so blown out. Production quality!

S3 looks so much sportier. S4 for the last few years looks like a A3 with the S like package. They play it too safe
@vomErsten4 жыл бұрын
And for the price of a lightly optioned S4 you can get an RS3 loaded. I mean, yeah, different size class, but if you drive alone most of the time and really want a sporty Audi, the RS3 is an infinitely superior choice.

Deffinitely a neat car, will be interesting to see how Audi innovates to keep pace with rapidly improving American luxury brands like Lincoln, Cadillac, Tesla, etc. Great review as always!

The ventilated seat/massaging seat functions are mutually exclusive because the massage uses air cushions, which is a lot cheaper than using a mechanical massage, but it makes it impossible to have both from an engineering standpoint.

Audi also forces buyers into another either or situation on the heated seating wheel. You can only get it with a round steering wheel, not with the sexier flat bottom one. Sad.
