The 3.5L vtec V6 is the selling point for me. I have a 2020 EXL. People nowadays focus too much on car accessories and techonogy but for me the balanced and quick drive feeling is important. Yes, Honda's technology and design may be outdated and they are known to be conservative, but I just want a car with a smooth and driving experiece with some a nice engine sound and doesn't have electronic parts breaking down from fancy technonogies. They better keep this engine for as long as possible.

Discounts are being offered but not as steep as you would think because they have been thinning out inventory throughout the year. Within a 300 mile radius from where I live, there are six times as many Pilots are there are Passports on sale. I am in a mid sized metro area with 4 Honda dealerships. Less than 10 units available in total, all 2025. Best deal I found was $4K off but not everyone is willing to deal.

I’ve had a 05 mdx, I traded in my 22 crv for the 23 passport exl and I’m very satisfied. The AWD system is nice, acceleration never an issue, interior is plenty quiet enough, love the visibility, great in the sand and light mud (Florida), mpg is fine considering the v6 and spacious interior! I was torn between this and the Grand Cherokee but after driving this for 5,000 miles I have zero regrets. It might not have the top of the line technology but remote start, Apple CarPlay, android auto, wireless charger, remote trunk release, you’re not missing the essentials 😊it’s a good solid choice for someone that wants reliable and safe fun!

There's only one larger midsize SUV around $45k that I can think of which is quicker, the Edge ST. Chevy Blazer comes close, but I think the Passport still edges that out. Luxury models like the X3, Q5, GLC, Stelvio, etc. dont count, as those are considerably smaller.

Whenever I hear that amazing 3.5L N/A V6, it makes me happy since this V6 is being phased out in a lot of Honda vehicles. I love that VTEC when it engages as well. Over 30 years of production means it’ll be hella bulletproof~~ ZF 9-speed, not the best transmission but it gets the job done and Honda/Acura definitely tuned the transmission the best compared to like FCA, which felt dreadfully lethargic. Also I still love the interior, however I am one who loves simple interiors, and due to Honda’s conservative nature, I am totally fine with it ~~ 👍👍

I have had my 2019 PP EX-L for 4 years/49k miles -still enjoy it. It is very quiet, stable and comfortable on the road. The V6 really is a gem and makes it a sleeper. I, too, like the simple touchscreen and real HVAC controls vs the giant tablets they are putting in most other cars these days. My only wish (and I know this will never happen) is if they put that V6 in the CR-V or HR-V. Now THAT would be fun.

I have a 2020 Passport Elite AWD and love it. You must have a lead foot because i get 19 to 21 mpg in mixed driving around San Diego, and if i set the cruise control at the speed limit (65-70), I can get 26-28 mpg on the highway. The 9-inch display in my car is plenty big. Our eyes should be on the road, not 14-inches of all choices. Lastly, if Honda is marketing the Passport as off-road capable, they should put a couple of recovery / tow points on the bumpers.

My wife and I, both in our mid-50s, particularly appreciate the "old-school" layout of the Passport, which was a key factor in our decision to purchase this vehicle. In an era where distracted driving, such as texting while driving, is a major concern, we find it counterintuitive to see so many manufacturers increasing vehicle settings via touchscreen, like the VW Atlas Cross Sport. Being able to adjust frequently used settings such as temperature using well-placed, familiar knobs or buttons not only makes it intuitive but, in our opinion, safer and far more functional. Touchscreens can be fickle to operate, causing drivers to take their eyes off the road, and the cost of a replacement screen, post-warranty, can be prohibitive. We also find some touchscreens to be too large, extending well above the dashboard and, in our opinion, looking a little out of place. We are not looking to have an iPad Pro mounted to our dash. That said, we admit the Passport touchscreen is on the small side, but it tucks nicely into the dash and does what it needs to do. Additionally, the engine, albeit an old design, provides a level of reliability and predictability to ownership, giving us peace of mind in our purchase. Choosing to buy a 2024 model ahead of the much-anticipated redesign in 2025 was a very intentional choice on our part. I appreciate your easy-going, candid approach, production quality, and the wealth of accurate information you provide in each video. Looking forward to seeing more!

I much prefer the smaller display in my 2023 Ridgeline compared to the massive screens in other vehicles. I’m looking to upgrade to the 2024 for the revised and quicker infotainment system. The 2023 model year one is sluggish and the panel used in it’s not the best. That’s my only complaint about the infotainment system. I believe the screens are getting to be too big.

Love the main concept of the Passport with V6 engine, tall & wide 2-row, and off-road capability. But Honda desperately needs to get it redesigned. The exterior design is very dated, being copy/pasted in 2019 off of the 3rd Gen (2015) Pilot. This is the second refresh with very few updates. Sadly, the Passport represents everything I want, but in an outdated package.

everyone complained about arm rests. So they fixed it. Next model loses the Vtec engine and puts in the 10 speed that many are having issues with. So Honda is holding off now.

6.0 0-60 is very respectable for a car like this and with crappy CVT and or 4-banger turbo that falls off at higher rpm and sounds like crap.

The shape or design of the vehicle is my issue. Front and rear view looks great. Side view gives me weird equinox, batters helmet, half van vibes.

Not testing the off ride capabilities was such a miss for this review. The Fast Lane Car actually put it through various tests and the passport did pretty damn good. His overall review seemed more satisfied than yours.

This would’ve been my Jetta CC Atlas Cross Sport Arteon 5th time with Volkswagen, but after this last stint with them, I crossed over to the 24 Honda Passport Trail Sport. I now own a vehicle that will go to hell and back. I would never own a VW for free…👍🏼

No, the screen size is fine. Quit touching stuff while you're driving and pay attention to what you're doing. What Honda really needs to do is focus on QUALITY rather than digitize or computer chip anything else in their new builds. Bring back the Honda simplicity. Best Honda I ever owned was a 1998 Civic hatchback CX that was so basic I had to pay to have AC installed. The thing was a TANK. Miss that car so much.

I had a 2022 Elite. The only thing this car stands out is the n/a V6. Other than that it is dated and overpriced. Not worth buying a new one. And not to mention there will be a complete redesign for 2025 most likely. The depreciation of this car is really bad, probably the worst of the entire Honda product line. So find a lightly used one and save 10+ grands.

More? Maybe more headaches in a few years. Hyundai cars don't last and don't hold their value like Hondas. Do you have an iPhone, Samsung or an LG? Because LG offers way more at the same price point, and they are no longer selling phones in the US because their quality control was terrible.
