I loved this version of The Hulk, in part because of the few call backs and references to The Incredible Hulk TV series of the 70’s-80’s. From the use of the bright eyes that starts the Hulk-out to the memorable appearance of the original Hulk; Lou Ferrigno, appearing as a security guard who gets bribed by Pizza. To me, this was the best.

She laughs at the "Hulk smash" and the thunderclap, but I remember being 20 and on a double date and all four of us were on the edge of our seats at the thunderclap. When he said the hulk smash line, we all about shit our pants. It makes me remember just how spoiled we are nowadays that something that simple made us giddy, lol.

It kinda baffles me that people don’t believe the Thunderclap moment. When you wave your hands, you generate wind. That’s common knowledge. Hulk is super strong as shit, so it stands to reason at that point he would generate a shit ton of wind, say, enough to put out a fire.

"Hulk Smash" is one of the most simple yet most badass phrase in comics history,especially when Hulk is truly enraged and he says it.. When i first saw this movie and heard that phrase i was a bit teary lol,i have been a very long time Hulk fan and when i heard it from live action i was a proud Hulk fan. Also what Hulk did with the clap of his hands is called "The ThunderClap" this clap is so dangerous he has achieved insane things with it in the comics..

I loved how they had Bill Bixby on the TV and Lou Ferrigno as the great big guard. That and the use of "the lonely man" end theme of the TV show. They even had Jim Wilson and Jack McGee as the eye witnesses who give the creature his iconic name! I also found it funny how Culver Universitylooks so much like the University of Toronto.

Just to give some Hulk backstory, in the comics, Bruce Banner was a scientist helping the military test Gamma bombs when a teenager (Rick Jones) unknowingly snuck into the test area. Banner saved the teen by shoving him into a ditch, but took the full brunt of the radiation from the explosion, which turned him into the Hulk shortly afterwards. But he was an articulate, semi-intelligent Hulk, not the animalistic version we are familiar with now. And he was gray, not green. But the printer couldn't keep the skin color consistent, so Stan Lee changed his skin to green. Oh, and the 'Hulk Smash' line ended up being a catch phrase for years in the comics.

I don’t care what anyone says, this movie is highly HIGHLY underrated. It could be that when I was younger and only Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk were out I would watch this one more. Therefore, I have a lot of nostalgia for it. Every time I rewatch the MCU, instead of dreading to watch this movie, like most people do, I rather look forward to watching it.

Why the fuck would it be more powerful for Hulk to kill Abomination when his whole deal is that he doesn’t want to be a monster. He’s been killing and smashing through the whole movie, the most powerful thing is that Hulk shows human emotion at the end and shows mercy to Abomination, therefore earning the title of hero.

"Why don't you just say hi?" He avoids Betty to protect her, because he loves her. You saw how she took some damage during the opening scenes. But she knows she is safe with him, because he protected her from the military attacks, so she knows she can get up on him to try to calm him down. The Abomination can't die because he has a future role to play. Mr Blue is to becone a future nemesis of the Hulk and you saw a hint of his transformation. Banner will do anything to keep from being a weapon for the military and to keep them from building an army of hulks. You ask "Why doesn't the military just use him?" That would be a stupid move. Unless you could fully trust General Ross, which of course you can't. Some people who read the Hulk comics had no problems with the pattern of the movie. By the way the guard who was bribed with pizza, was the guy who played the Hulk in the TV series.

Edward Norton was originally supposed to be in all the Avengers movies after this but Marvel fired him for being too controlling on the set of this movie and wanted more for his character that Marvel didn't want; and so then they replaced him later with Mark Ruffalo. Nothing against Ruffalo, he was a good Bruce Banner/Hulk, but Norton was more true to the character in my opinion.
