The thing about Slo Mo Guys is that Gavin, the one who works the Phantom, works in the industry and is responsible for a lot of great Slow Motion effects in a lot of films, TV shows, commercials and music videos. They reached out to him personally about the explosion effect for Solo.

Okay just as a fan of Struggle Nation and Reel Rejects, I was happier to see these two together more than the damn reaction 😆💞 I love this supporting one another. We need more!!

Yeah it feels like they were payed because no way in hell someone miss out on that last scene that was a 100 worse than the rest of the movie. Sadly they are biased.

@@d-1381 to be fair gemini man was an entirely CGI person, not partial CGI elements a lot more to work with, but at times it does stand out
@d-13815 жыл бұрын
@@NonsensicalSpudz Yeah but the fact that didn't talk about that part at all while that ending stood out A LOT from the rest of the movie. It wasn't subtle at all. They didn't even mention it which seems shady and biased. Could have been that I saw an unfinished early realise because I am surprised not many people mention this.

I honestly think people expect too much from CGI these days, things that aren't that bad are always made out to be worse than they are
@jamestomato17444 жыл бұрын
That's true to an extent, but it depends on what the CGI is trying to show. If it's a person that either existed at one point, or is supposed to be a real person then it's not only extremely difficult but stands out like a sore thumb in a majority of cases. In other situations, like with robots or even environments (which is where the application of CGI in my opinion excels at) it's far less noticeable if not at all. At that point, it's either nitpicking or an unbelievably bad job on the studios part (which is uncommon now a days).
@passionsquietrage4 жыл бұрын
True, but at the same time using CGI to de-age or ressurect a person rarely looks as bad as it's made out to be
@jamestomato17444 жыл бұрын
@@passionsquietrage Yea, I mean they're alright but definitely noticeable. Which I think is kind of the problem, good CGI is never noticeable while bad ones are. Sure a good chunk of people out there are probably exaggerating the truth a bit, but the more a CGI element stands out it breaks the immersion of the movie. That the actors, and the CGI elements are interacting in the same environment.
@passionsquietrage4 жыл бұрын
@@jamestomato1744 True, it does ruin the immersion to a point, but it doesn't completely ruin it.
@jamestomato17444 жыл бұрын
@@passionsquietrage Yea, exactly. It doesn't completely ruin it, but it can in instances pull you out. Which depending on how they do it, can be fine or it can be off putting. I personally think, that we still have a ways to go before CGI humans can become lead actors completely, but for one or two scenes I think it's completely fine (given that they do something similar to Grand Moff Tarkin in Rogue One).
