The reason why Steven or anyone not revived Tony was they have to break the timeline course to save half(and ends up the universe itself as well)and if Tony was revived that would cause an time paradox cosmically speaking...if Tony was revived thanos and his army wouldn't never be dead and they would come back because If wasn't for Tony they would die so it would messing up with the space time continuum...the vision revival is different because his(vision)actions weren't interfere or cause an after event or aftermath of any kind on the other hand Tony actions cause an aftermath

The main problem that the MCU has to address eventually It's the repercusions of branching realities. As of now, it seems that there's no ethics to it. Like it doesn't matter that EVERY little change that they made created a new reality, and that the other versions of themselves might end up in a really bad position? I'm not saying Endgame HAD to do something with that idea, but moving forward someone will have to establish some rules, warnings etc. I guess secret wars could be a good idea ;) (This of course also has to do with the disagreement between the directors and the writers as to wich reality had to deal with Cap not doing anything for 70 years... Pretty sure that the Sling ring dismember trick would not work on Thanos as he is a magnitude of order more powerful than Cull Obsidian (big guy who gets arm chopped by Wong's closing the portal) even if he did not possess an Infinity Stone like he did in the fight on Titan. On Titan with the Power, Reality, Soul and Space Stones even a Time stone powered Dr Strange would not be able to sling ring cut off Thanos's head or arm. As to Nebula not escaping from Morag when Rhodey did- I believe that when the 2 Nebula's systems link up it causes a feedback loop of sorts that disrupts their control of their cybernetic systems. Systems that Thanos not only has access to but control of .
