The Legion, and later the Chapters it separated into, that have always been the most interesting and emotion inspiring to me has always been the Blood Angels. But while they also fight for humanity to save and protect it, the pain of the Angel's death has wounded them so deeply that they lose themselves in it at times, and innocents suffer for it. The only Legion who meets, and due to their lack of mind breaking wound surpass it by not turning on humanity, is the Salamanders. While it kinda saddens me to say it, they are the most human of all the Astartes. The IXth salutes you all, mighty armed and mighty hearted children of Vulcan.

The Salamanders are my favorite legion/chapter, so often overlooked for their more boastful and extreme brother chapters. The salamanders are almost ordinary, generic. Any of their history that might make them stand out amongst the adeptus astartes has been hidden away or lost to time as the legion and chapter has been almost wiped out time and time again. Despite this they bear no chip on their shoulders, hold no insecurities, they are steadfast in their commitment to the citizens of the imperium. Where other chapters see normal humans as weak, lower than them, undeserving, the Salamanders know better than anyone else, blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the galaxy. Vulkan Lives!

They are one of my favorites. They are the ones i can relate to the most in Warhammer 40k. Their warriors that protect the weakest. How they interact with people especially kids and those who cant protect themselves. Is beautiful to me. Their gentle giants especially with kids. They actually care a great deal. One thing thats off is Salamanders are not 100% codex compliant. They are allowed to follow the promethean creed instead of the official imperial creed. And they only have 7 companies over a little over 100 Astartes each. One company for each settlement of Nocturne.

I think we know full well the chapter Librarians make use of a specialised Vox caster known as Psycaster that is known to interfere with Chaos entities connection to the immaterium, often to the ire of the servents of Slanesshe.
