I’m a paramedic and had have the opportunity to pray for literally hundred, if not thousands of patients. I must say I have seen a relatively few people who appeared to show any immediate physical change. I’ve seen many people obviously touched emotionally and/spiritually but I believe there’s so much more. Also I typically have a very limited time and sometimes or even often this takes place during stressful and dynamic situations.

I was saved and baptized in the Holy Spirit (by Blaine Cook) at a John Wimber Conference in Denver in the 80's. Truly loved him! I went to many of his conferences in California. He had a healthy balance with the Word and the Holy Spirit gifts. He always told the Gospel message. Blaine Cook was a very good speaker. I love your look for winter! I live in Michigan and have 4 foot drifts in my front yard, -4 degrees this week!

I wish I hadn't waited so long to pick up the study of the gifts. The way you present them and their use is completely different from my experience from 40 years ago. Abuse of the gifts sent me packing into Cessationism. God is using you to bring me back to a healthy balance of Word and Spirit.

My teenage niece, Elizabeth, has had cancer for six years. She beats it, and it comes right back. There is nothing else they can do for her, and she is now struggling to breathe. It is a type of sarcoma that started in her bones, but it has spread to her lungs. Her bones are clear, but she hasn't been able to beat it in her lungs. So many are praying for her, and I know this would give God great glory for her to be healed. As a former cessationist, I want so much to see God work so miraculously. She is a beautiful, sweet, and godly young lady. She is a believer, so she knows where she's going, but the earthly in us all wants to keep her here a little longer. If you could pray for her, we would so appreciate it!!

Years ago a young friend of my daughter had been healed of, I think, an eye problem. But the eye problem returned. So I asked the Lord about it and why she would lose her healing. And all that I heard from the Lord was, “because satan is a thief and a liar”. Then. My son asked for prayer for a skin issue. I prayed and the Lord healed him. It returned and my son let me know. So I just rebuked satan in Jesus name. The issue was resolved. I don’t think that is always the answer for different issues. But there is that. I loved how Michael Miller talked about being compassionate when gently asking questions!

I have a question @Remnant Radio if you could answer it. I grew up cessationist but now I see that worldview is wrong and I want to being seeking the gifts. Unfortunately I don’t know anyone who has experience with spiritual gifts. Also I feel this tugging on my heart to seek the gift of healing - in a very broad way: healing the earth through regenerative farming and ecosystem restoration, healing broken spirits with community and art, healing bodies with healthy food grown at my farm. How should I go about seeking this? I’ve just started praying about it but I also feel scared that I’m not worthy to have this gift and I’m just being silly. I don’t want to use it to glorify myself but what if it gets to my head? I just feel very called to have a healing influence on the world through farming but also I’ve had a lot of experiences with disease lately. My grandmother died of lung cancer, my dad has leukemia, my grandfather suffers dementia and anxiety, and we had to put my beloved dog of 15 years down because she had brain lesions. I felt after I lost my dog (which was most recent) I needed to seek the health and wholeness of all things. How could this be manifested in my life?

I asked to pray for someone who had a physical infirmity of some form and they said they didn’t want prayer because if they got healed, they would lose their Social Security check. It Suggested that there might be more dependence on that rather than relying on God. It clearly was a trust issue and I wasn’t wise enough to begin to address it or maybe God just didn’t want me to address it at the time. So that can possibly be a factor in a person not wanting prayer to be healed too. Sadly.😢

Re: the girl who was healed of Tourettes, it sounds as though from the sequence of events, that when that girl told her father she had not cussed since being delivered, and he denied it, ... she believed her father, instead of standing firm by confessing, yes, Jesus did heal me. Her hesitancy (doubt) gave the demon opportunity to come back in. She needed to know how to retain her healing.

I too have an autoimmune disease and it is very hard when you know God can heal you, and he chooses not to, to discern if it is his will then for his grace to be enough or if there's uncontested sin or if we are not believing enough. It makes it 10x's worse when pastors heap it on you that God wants to heal you and you should be healed and walk in healing while on earth and its then your faith or sin. It brings a burden to the soul that I am not sure God wishes to be carried by his children. I've been in those positions and it really tries the faith and also at times makes me waffle on the goodness of God. Its sad. But I KNOW God is good. I KNOW he can heal, but he may just choose to do so on the other side.

@@Liminalplace1 I don't know that for sure 🙂. He may be willing to heal me this side of heaven, he may not. I know I've prayed for years, and have also gone before the elders and have had hands laid on me and been anointed with oil several times as well. To my knowledge I don't have any unrepentant ongoing sin in my life. And, so far, I have not been healed. I haven't given up hope, I'm just choosing to glorify him regardless. I sure hope he does. But.. I've had it since my 20's without change so I don't know 🤷♀️ I know he can. Just honestly not sure if he will. It can be a tricky thing to walk out.

@@TheWayWalker Its a misnomer when Christians have to look at their need for repentence or faith when they are the sick ones. I pray for others to be healed and have seen miraculous medically verified healings, but if i get sick i find it more helpful expecting others to believe for me. Id encourage you to just believe Gods word with a certainty and keep seeking til you find someone who can actually pray the prayer of faith over you. God is not a respector of persons. what hes done for others he'll do for you. Sickness and healing is a part of a spiritual battle and warfare (Acts 10:38) keep fighting.

I wonder if sometimes a situation like with the headache might be a means of communication. When we do earthly scientific studies, a lot of times we'll do the experiment one direction, so to speak, and then remove the intervention to see if the problem returns. When there's correlation both ways, that's an added confirmation that your intervention is what made the difference. And so I wonder if, on occasion, an event like that might be a teaching tool on God's part, to say, "yes, that was My doing." As a benefit for the long-term life of the person involved.

Learned a lot, thank you. I've been wondering about the story of Job. Obviously, it was not his sin that caused his infirmities, but rather God allowed Satan to afflict his body, kill his family, etc. Do you believe that could be the case with some of Gods children today? Now maybe there are none as righteous as Job, but do you believe the Accuser is allowed to stand in the heavenly courts and afflict Gods children and God says "sure, go ahead" but only up until a certain point? If so, this would be affliction being allowed but not due to that individual's unconfessed sins, etc. I also think that, a minister, would have a difficult time distinguishing this. As a minister, would you ever tell someone that maybe they were being afflicted like Job, and to just keep the faith, etc? I've been thinking about this lately. Thanks for your insight.

I have a question about the 13 year old girl with turrets that you mentioned, in regards to her turrets returning; Michael mentioned that her dad didn't believe she was truly freed/healed from it. My question is hard to word properly but I'll try: is it possible that her father not believing her discouraged her own belief to the point where she allowed the enemy back in because she was so discouraged that "maybe dads right, maybe I'm not healed"? So like her dad (who is her spiritual protector/priest of his household right), tells his daughter that he doesn't believe she's healed, and she then believes her dad and in turn believes the lies the enemy is trying to feed her about her healing/is trying to convince her she's not truly free from whatever else could've been the root cause of the turrets. So I guess what I'm trying to ask is, is her dad partially responsible for her healing not staying?

Healing whether it be physical emotional or spiritual is a difficult subject to handle. There are many instances that are mentioned in God's Word with very different circumstances and methods. I thought the Greek implied Jesus "had been casting out" demons from the demoniac. So demons were being exercised, but because there were multiple demons...he therefore asked for a name. Legion giving his name confirmed there were many....thus Jesus cast it and all associated demons out in that moment.

Is it possible that the strong man is the devil? Because Jesus reiterated that verse saying “and again” referring to the claim that he was casting out spirits by the power of beelzebul, he was claiming that if someone were to carry off the possessions (spirits) wouldn’t you have to bind up the strong man (devil) because it would be the strong man’s possessions. Wouldn’t the evil spirits be the devils possessions?

I have rather complicated, and yes contradictory thoughts, about healing in the Church. It stems largely from having a degenerative condition. Therefore, I don't view sickness in a theoretical way as does the normal person. I'm not normal. My overall opinion of life is that it's a negative and unhappy experience to be a human. There was a time I both read, and realized I could comprehend Job. In fact, I recalled having the same thoughts as in the text. That's disturbing when Scripture stops being doctrinal, and becomes personal. Sorta nightmarish. Cleary, another person might have a vastly different opinion if asked to rate their experience. To be ill in the Church is an odd thing. How people react to you falls into various categories. Some, in fact many people, are pleasant. This seems to emerge from their personal disposition. Overall, Charismatic portions of the Church would not be a preferred segment to become I'll in. I would expect a greater likelyhood of problems to emerge. But again, a mixed bag. A repulsive segment would be groups such as a Mars Hill. The faux masculinity produced an abhorrence in me.

Hello! I don't think any one person has the whole truth. I followed Curry for a number of years, I received my own healing from adrenal fatigue/thyriod/Hashimodos symptoms by following what he was teaching, then when he came to Australia I took my family to his seminar, my husband & son were prayed for by Curry, and neither of them were healed. Another friend of mine was there and received partial healing, getting out of a wheel chair, but I don't think it lasted. She experiences a form of muscular dystrophy. I have been praying for people on & off for years and am still to figure out how to see more people healed, even after applying what Curry and others teach.
