A happy machine is a clean machine. I was distressed to see several of the other small engine channels post repair howtos and never took the trouble to clean the chainsaw, bushwacker, trimmer, etc. in the process. Glad to see someone showing a good cleaning. It drives me crazy to see grimey, soil caked small engines.

This is the first year I have owned a chainsaw. So I appreciate even the simplest of knowledge Ion taking care of it. While I might be able to research and find and answer. I honestly don’t know how the lubrication system works for the bar. I know I have a hole for the gas and a whole for bar oil, But I would find it interesting to understand how the bar receives that oil.

I've found that brake cleaner is a bit less harsh on rubber and plastic components than carburetor cleaner for cleaning items with those components. Well done on the video and keep up the excellent work!

Craig-The inlet of your carb is so dirty I suspect there is an air leak around the perimeter of the air filter letting debris in. With that much debris I’d be concerned about scoring of the cylinder and piston. Also possible is that filter not as efficient as it could be. I’ve taken apart much filthier and less cared for machines and the carbs were spotless so I really think there’s something amiss with yours. Can you have a look at your combustion chamber for us? Thanks! 👍🔧🧰

When you use high-pressure air to blow off the debris, aren't you afraid of pushing debris into the chain oiler? I always use tape to cover the chain oiler.

wow thank you for you nice feedback. Dash dandy is a brand here in the UK that just puts a silicon shine on upholstery and other such surfaces. A silicone based spray basically.

What's wrong with cleaning the chain in diesel, it's cheap, cleanes the chain and leaves a coating of oil behind to protect it from rust ! An other thing cover the oiling hole with u pinky when using air pressure for obvious reasons 😊

What are you spraying the bar with?
@TheRepairSpecialist
@TheRepairSpecialist 5 ай бұрын
It’s just light oil because it’s both lubricative and it cleans quite well. I know the it does also need greasing as well, but I usually do that before before using the saw rather than just a clean. 👍
@1quickdub
@1quickdub 5 ай бұрын
All that carb cleaner and not regreasing anything? Looks like that bar tip has a grease hole, clutch bearings can take some once in a while as well
@TheRepairSpecialist
@TheRepairSpecialist 5 ай бұрын
Yes I know what you mean. I just wanted to stick more with the cleaning in this vid but indeed there is a grease hole at the end of the bar, which I normally do grease prior to using the saw. Never the less, I should have mentioned that. Thanks. Craig
